I really love what they did with this figure. Besides that wispy loincloth it is 100 percent better than priveious efforst. I was talking to another reviewer who has this online and he said this figure was basically the Sunfire build but with a modified torso and modified boots to make the shins longer and then maiking it taller. To me that's basically a new sculpt. Thats' a method they should use more often with figures like Silver Surfer who's torso was appropriately jacked but was way too short. If they'd had just had a way to give him longer legs and arms it would have been fine. Seruosly that's the biggest thing wrong with the Sunfire model. He's just to short for the characters they use it for. It's what Mattel does for it's WWE figures. They make leg, torso and arm parts in different sizes that are all interchangeable that give a little more length when they need a figure to be taller or bigger. I certainly think Hasbro has much better sculpts and enjoy a new model as well but what Mattel does is so efficient and as much better toy company IMO they should be completely capable of this as well. Especially when its a new character who only require a standard smooth body with little more than paint to make it distinct.
A detail I hadn't noticed until now is howthe upper part of his tunic has been sculpted to almost match the fabric loincloth. This will certainly ease any hesitation on how the soft goods will affect the overall aesthetics.
I'm actually pretty excited for this set, the colors on Hawkeye will go nicely with all the other classic Avengers versions we've been getting lately. Plus, cmon... we're getting his Sky Cycle. I had considered getting a few more cycles but really no other Avenger is as closely associated with that vehicle as 'Hawk so one will do..... for now.
