Following up from yesterday's story, Hasbro's
Dan Yun has updated us to say the new
Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends Rogue and Destiny 2-Pack will be going up for pre-order this week on July 11th. He didn't give a time but likely it will go up at 1pm ET. If we hear of an updated time we will be sure to update you here.
Dan also states that this item is an Amazon exclusive in other regions but there will probably be a delay on when it goes live depending on the market.
Don't know if the 30% off coupon is still regional only but this Destiny and Rogue 2 pack is on sale right now for $37.40 (25% off) plus the 30% off coupon on Amazon.
$27 Is a great deal for that pack, hopefully there will be another sale that doesn't have region specific coupon.
About three weeks ago that Destiny and Rogue 2 pack was $35.99 PLUS a 30% off coupon. I picked it up at that point. I ended up paying just a little over $27 after tax.
I'm a bit tempted on this one. $35 for two figures is a fair deal. These particular figures are just not ones I would consider being essential to my collection. I do like the Destiny figure though, might wait and see if we see them go lower in the future.

it's certainly boiling down to a case of misjudging the demand for a figure.
Honestly the guys who put this line together, they say they know, they think they know, but look into their eyes and tell me you know they know, never forget..."we googled this character"
Multi packs do follow a very specific formula. Most of the time anyway. And the way it's done it is very hard not to feel like we're being nickeled and dimed to death though. Whether it's a 2 pack or a 5 pack it is basically one new tooled figure and any number of redecos or small tweaked figures. In this case it just so happens that the redeco is the more desired figure for most. And though I really don't like it I understand why they did it in this arrangement. Had they done the Destiny & Mystique set as everyone expected it would have been essentially 2 of the same figures with different head sculpts. Which would have carried its own set of criticisms. Or even worse they would have used the terrible Kate Bishop model for one of them. A third Mystique on that wobbly knee body is enough to drive anyone insane. While this Rogue suffers from the horrendous revers ball joint waist design it is mostly new. Still not something many of us were asking for I will still maintain though. I think we can chalk it up to that disconnect between the decision makers and the fans yet again. The price is getting there but I'm still not biting on this just yet. I expect this set to start showing up at discount stores very soon so I'll continue to hold out. Still tempting because one would be hard pressed to find that Destiny on secondary market under $35. And then tax. This is one of those times Amazon Prime shipping could really pay off. It's basically paying full price for Destiny and picking up Rogue at Ollie's for $10. I might have to rethink it.
Destiny's design always reminded me of Lucifer from Battlestar Galactica.
I know Destiny was the draw on this, but l love that Rogue! Shes right there next to Magneto in my Brotherhood display. This early appearance, bad Rogue turned out to be one of the better Rogues in recent memory, especially the head sculpt, which pops for me.

For example, how many people wanted Brood Wolverine? Another mediocre green Rogue? Next year, Psylocke is supposedly coming back . . . in a two pack. I don't believe Hasbro is deliberately trying to screw people (as I said above, they still have to make the less demanded figure). But I think they are misjudging demand and it makes people think they are paying 2x more for the figure they really want.

The Rogue that came with Pyro is like $13-15 on eBay. The green and black Rogue is routinely 50% off at Pulse and Amazon. This Rogue will be super cheap on eBay.
Lots of Rogues pegwarm when they aren't the ones people really want.
Seriously people! I love when it's stated, "no one wanted this". They aren't making figures they think "no one" wants. Someone wants about every obscure figure, and these aren't obscure...at all! I'm personally guilty of this with Bloodstorm, not sure if I commented here or somewhere else. But I thought, "God who wanted this?" and a commentor here on this site, can't remember who off hand, was pumped for her release! This set is not the same as Zemo with a 12 yr old figure btw. It's two totally new figures. I, and a bunch of people, want both of these. I am very excited. More for Destiny than Rogue, but I have wanted this Rogue for a long time.As far as who would peg warm. Destiny probably would. I am always shocked by my most wanted figures hanging out forever. You can probably still find a Misty Knight somewhere. And Rogues don't. I was a bit surprised it wasn't Mystique with Destiny, but It's not like this doesn't make sense for these two to be in a pack. If you don't like this, kvetch away. If you want to wait for a sale do so. But this isn't some vast conspiracy to $#@% us all over.
