Hasbro during
San Diego Comic Con announced that they would not be offering a
Marvel Legends Haslab this year, but instead they would be experimenting with a new
Made-To-Pre-Order model with their upcoming
Marvel Legends Dragon Man figure which was said to stand 10.5" tall and have a wingspan of 17.5" wide.
Shown below are images of the prototype they had on display at San Diego Comic Con.
According to Hasbro at SDCC, the two biggest differences between this new
made-to-pre-order model and the
traditional Haslab campaign would be that there will no longer be a publicly stated minimum order number and there will be no additional stretch goals.
Dragon Man like we have seen with previous Haslabs would have a stated pre-order window time frame. In other words pre-orders for the figure would be opened for a certain period of time and if you didn't pre-order the figure during that time then you would not be able to pre-order or buy the figure at a later time unless you went to the secondary market. The figure wouldn't move into production until the pre-order campaign closed which means we probably wouldn't see the figure ship out to people until some time in 2025.
Hasbro also stated during SDCC that
Dragon Man would only be available on
HasbroPulse.
Things we still don't know about
Dragon Man is what the price will be, though I continue to speculate it will ended up costing around $100. We also don't know when the pre-orders for this figure will begin or how long the pre-order window will be open before. I suspect all those details will be revealed this coming
Friday (9/13) during the
Hasbro Pulse-Con event. I also suspect that is when the pre-orders for this figure will open up on the Pulse website.
The reason why I suspect this week is the week
Hasbro will open the pre-order for
Dragon Man is because this is around the time they would have launched their Marvel Legends Haslab if they were still doing one, and also
Dan Yun posted a random image of
Dragon Man on his social media account this weekend which I take to be a teaser that the pre-order is coming soon.
Of course when more details become available, we will be sure to let you know and we will also have full coverage of everything Marvel related revealed during Pulse-Con this coming Friday.
Well, I signed on---taking a chance on this that I will have the scratch come August next year. We'll see....

After tax for me it's a hundred dollars and I ordered two so I don't want to have this sprung on me next year out of nowhere. That shipping date will change I almost guarantee it. And with kids and life I would rather just pay now and be done with it.
I agree. Just charge us now. Who knows what'll be going on next year, lol. Plus, like I brought up before, people canceling will hurt this model. And there's no way some don't back out. So then they end up being sold, even though "if you don't order now you don't get it". Then the weird theories and whining start.

It's still unclear to me as well but this is something I want so I'm sticking with it. With Haslab I think you could still back out even after it funded and get a refund because lives change and financials change and I think they ultimately leave a way out. The agreement with this is similarly worded but it's still pretty confusing.

I personally wouldn't have blinked at $100 for this and I already have the original Toy Biz F4 Classics version.
I never said the quality was good for S7, I'm just stating that Hasbro's pricing is as nuts as S7's. Funny you mention the old Dragon man cos I sold mine almost triple the price of this one LOL, ah the good ol days

*looks at Diamond Select *NO!
I wonder if they will shoot us an email or update the page if it gets to the mystery number. Or if we'll just have to wait till the 17th. I didn't like not knowing at first, but it takes away the conversation for the haters. No, "look how slow it's selling". But it will also take away the people that will only order if it IS getting made. But I think the way they are doing it takes away a lot of the confusion and misunderstanding about how the former model worked.
Exciting. Now I want Diablo even more than before.
I looks fantastic and the price is very good, but I have no room for it

Here here! I think hasbro really deserves praise for this offering. Glad to see everyone happy with the price and now the possibilities are endless for future big characters!
