See, I've never really understood this perspective. If you like the movies, why does it matter when the figures come out? I guarantee the technology that these figures use is miles ahead of anything we could have gotten in 2018, and I'm just glad we're getting them at all. In my eyes, this is like saying you don't care about the Secret Wars figures because it's been 40 years since those comics came out.

I guess you can look at it that way but if you look at it that way you can also say I shouldn't care about Hasbro's Marvel Legends because Toybiz ML already did the majority of these characters years ago and then why should I care about ML at all because Toybiz did them in a 5" line many years before that. But bringing back an old line or sub line and sprucing it up with new technology and techniques and materials versus finally getting around to doing something the fans have wanted for years and totally had the ability to do but constantly put it off so long because you had to satisfy the powers that be by chugging out the same old movie characters over and over are two totally different circumstances IMO. That's why I was very careful to express no hating on the product or anyone who likes the product. It's just a matter of perspective and taste I guess. I was never a huge fan of movie characters to begin with and I'm surely not a fan of seeing a new figure of the same character every time they change the shape of their collar or get a new belt buckle or add more pockets to their pants or change to a darker shade of red on their uniform but I did purchase MCU figures but now the glitz is over. I still have my MCU figures. I have not sold or gotten rid of a single one. I still have my display up and it's pretty good compared to most and I got all the main characters. Most of them many times over. I also wanted Chitauri warriors. I wanted the Iron Legion. I wanted Hammer Drones. I wanted a lot of stuff during the booming years of the MCU but now I'm good. Had these figures or any of the others come out during that time when the MCU was running strong I would have bought them and probably multiple sets but I guess between the cooling down period and the mess the MCU has become since Endgame I just don't feel the desire to have these figures as strongly as I once did. Given the choice I'd much prefer them releasing a product a little too soon and spoiling the surprise like they did the Black Order versus waiting 5 or more years for them to finally getting around to it every time. But TBH I guess it's mostly because I'm a comics fan first and to me the MCU was just a short flash but the comics are timeless IMO. I started collecting ML a long time ago when it was mostly comic characters with only the occasional movie figure spattered throughout. So with all the great comic product that ML is coming out with I'd much rather save my money for that. Maybe it's just a girl thing. I'm not totally ruling that out either. No offense to other girls. I don't mean to speak for us all. I'm just saying maybe.

LOL for reals, if they did outriders in 2018 they would have probably been very half baked, the figures they did for Infinity war were pretty lackluster, case in point Captain America, Thor, Thanos BAF, The inaccurate Proxima, Atrocious and in accurate Quantum suits for Endgame.

Actually collectors benefit from things coming out after the movie has been released, Hasbro has time to actually make things look good, gosh I hate when they rush movie product it's never right, these outriders are fantastic.

These are about 5 years too late. Not going to lie. Not going to hate. They look freaking amazing. And along with Spiral this is more proof Hasbro can do the multiple arm game as good as anyone. When they feel like it. I hope when they get around to doing Man-Spider it looks this good. I was torn on getting these because they do represent an era of greatness for the MCU that I'm pretty sure we'll never see again. But in the end it's just too little too late. And even as good as they look they still seem like an afterthought to me. Like they knew they needed to put some kind of MCU product out there and were pretty sure yet another IM & Cap two pack was not going to scratch the itch. Let's dig up some characters that people been asking for for years. And now that there's really nothing good going on aside from DP & Wolvie we have some funds to do it. And in actuality its just a two pack of one new sculpt with 2 head sculpts. But they look good and had it been 5 years ago when it was relevant they would have had me on the hook. Now I'll just admire them and hope they hit clearance somewhere. But as good as they are I don't expect that they will.

All that being said, the way Hasbro has been absolutely killing it lately, I know these sets will be fantastic. Much like the severly underrated The Marvels and Quantumania figures, which were some of Hasbros best work, these Outriders look amazing.

Agreed, they've been killing it with the MCU figures lately. I just want more, we never got Dar-Benn, MODOK, High Evolutionary, Gamora, etc. Hopefully those make it out eventually and aren't bogged down by likeness or anything.

I agree with McHogan about the Marvels and Quantumania figures being underrated. Especially Wasp, Captain Marvel and Photon. All really nice figures.

McHogan - 2024-10-11 @ 7:11 pm

I got two sets on the way but the timing couldnt be worse. Between the 85th anniversary sets, the Crystal/ Lockjaw set and the Strange Tales wave i really didnt want to spend $130 on Army Builders Im not that thrilled to be getting in the first place. Like others mentioned above, these seem late, even by MCU figures release schedule. Plus, Id have rather gotten Chitauri figures first. I had no idea the Outriders were a thing in comics or otherwise. Just thought they were dog- like crestures in Endgame.

I dont usually give into to FOMO but I remembered how quicky the Children of Thanos set sold out and I knew if I didnt get them at retail, I definitely wouldnt even try at a mark up. They may end up at a discount store, but they may not.

And a big ol yes to Man Spider. Pretty crazy we still don't have him as a baf.

One of my most anticipated releases of the year, I can't wait to get mine in hand.

since83 - 2024-10-11 @ 1:54 pm

I did order, but like others have said, only one. Army building at the 6 inch scale is a little nuts. Also, I wish they'd understand that there is more of a zeitgeist with movie figures. If these had come out when the movie did, or within the year, I woulda been way more excited. There are so many missing, or in need of an update, MCU figures that are now just in an "oh well" category for me at this point. But these look close enough to the comic version, that I got em for action set ups.
