2024 Hasbro 1027 Event Marvel Legends Coverage - Dark Avengers Warbird

October 27, 2024
We are bringing you coverage of the Marvel Legends portion of the Hasbro 1027 event as it happens.

They showed the Sentinel and Captain America: Brave New World figures they showed already but also announced a new Dark Avengers Warbird that will be on the new pin-less body. The figure will go up for pre-order at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and Entertainment Earth. It will go up on November 7 at 1pm ET. They also suggested Warbird could have other parts included with it.

They also teased we can expect more Dark Avengers characters in 2025.

For the X-Men 97 Made to pre-order Sentinel they talked about the torso joint which will be able to pivot at the waist and have a soft-flexible belt. They also said the tentacles from the Haslab Sentinel will fit on this new Sentinel and the blast effects from this one will work with the Haslab Sentinel. You have until November 26th to pre-order this and will not be charged until it actual ships in October 2025. Each hand will have 25 points of articulation and total will have around 80. It will have thigh cuts in the final model. They will be adding different levels of textures applied to different color breaks as well similar to what we have seen with Giant Man.

Jesse also mentioned something about a Marvel Legends Red Brick wave that will feature a Build-A-Figure that will also have texturing used on it. Red Brick is likely a code name but something to look forward to in 2025.

They also teased more X-Men97 figures will be coming once again.

Just got this Dark Ms. Marvel or Dark Warbird whatever they're calling it. And I must say it looks incredible but it's just what I've been saying on other posts. It is way way way too small for a female character who sits just under 6 foot tall. They should have done this as another smaaler character who would have benefited from the extra articulation and waited until they come up with a taller model to represent Carol. Or Karla. Or like I said what was wrong with the updated Moonstone model? She's got pinless joints and double joint elbows and really does Carol or Karla need all that extra articulation for flying poses?

Always thought this was a great looking figure. Didn't pick it up because I like the version of Carol Danvers I currently have - Ms. Marvel. Still, I am tempted to grab this one while it's available.

The new Marvel Legends Series Dark Avengers Warbird Figure from Hasbro is now available in-stock from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com with a suggested retail price of $27.99.

If anyone wants Dark Warbird and missed her, she's up on HasbroPulse right now (though it says low stock, I was able to order an extra one).

Edit: She is still in stock, ready to ship, and is now no longer "low stock." So they must have fulfilled all their preorders.

I may be wrong, but I don't remember Carol's eyes going white, but I know Karla's did. And the thinner mask does look a bit more like the mask worn in Dark Avengers by Moonstone.

Maybe they accidentally did something comic accurate, but obviously accidentally since Hasbro doesn't look at any comics for any figure, any.

(Or they just did glowing eyes because MCU Carol's eyes glow)

Carol was drawn with white out lens/eyes quite a bit

Pretty sad that Toy Biz at least tried more 20 yrs ago than Hasbro. That effect he came with didn't stay on his hand well enough, but it looked closer to the art than the fireball for sure.

Truth. They wouldn't have to do a lot to adjust that and make it work. I'd forgotten all about that one, good catch.

Not to mention Iron Fist's signature "Gil Kane" energy effect trail. I mean, what's with the "fireballs" they give him? Anybody remember he even had his "own" sound effect? SH-KOW!!

Yeah he makes an excellent point about hasbo dropping the ball, because they could have made more by producing different heads. Thus collectors would buy more than one figure.

Its weird, isn't it?

I'd point out that these "energy effects" are once again, a lazy effort, especially for this character. Why won't they just make some updated effects?

Personally I'm with @Air-Walker... can wait for the true blue 70s version which we know they're gonna do. This thing (and its a fine figure, outside of the missed opportunity) will likely be on discount then.

Spot on about the heads. I made that point as well but I swear I wasn't copying you. It's been a busy week and I've just been skimming comments. I think they just don't understand the collectors as well as they think they do. They think they need to present them as entirely different characters to make us buy more than one but in truth if they just produced one figure with several heads collectors will almost always buy that many figures for displaying purposes. And if one of those heads is a troop builder like a masked or helmet head it increases purchases many more times over. Personally it's almost OCD that I must have at least a dozen troops or no troops at all.

Effects for me are one of the sorest subjects. I've all but given up and started either making my own or having them printed by a friend. There are actually many recipes for 3d printed effects online.

I hope if and when they do the Blue version it's done in a wave or a Retro so they'll use one of the standard models. Preferably the Moonstone so she matches the other 2 Karla Sofen figures. I really think this model is overly complicated for the characters they've used them for thus far. Black Widow I can see. Mockingbird most definitely. Spider-Women and Elektra absolutely. Telekinetics and energy manipulators? Seriously why?
