I may be wrong, but I don't remember Carol's eyes going white, but I know Karla's did. And the thinner mask does look a bit more like the mask worn in Dark Avengers by Moonstone.

Maybe they accidentally did something comic accurate, but obviously accidentally since Hasbro doesn't look at any comics for any figure, any.

(Or they just did glowing eyes because MCU Carol's eyes glow)

Carol was drawn with white out lens/eyes quite a bit

Pretty sad that Toy Biz at least tried more 20 yrs ago than Hasbro. That effect he came with didn't stay on his hand well enough, but it looked closer to the art than the fireball for sure.

Truth. They wouldn't have to do a lot to adjust that and make it work. I'd forgotten all about that one, good catch.

Not to mention Iron Fist's signature "Gil Kane" energy effect trail. I mean, what's with the "fireballs" they give him? Anybody remember he even had his "own" sound effect? SH-KOW!!

Yeah he makes an excellent point about hasbo dropping the ball, because they could have made more by producing different heads. Thus collectors would buy more than one figure.

Its weird, isn't it?

I'd point out that these "energy effects" are once again, a lazy effort, especially for this character. Why won't they just make some updated effects?

Personally I'm with @Air-Walker... can wait for the true blue 70s version which we know they're gonna do. This thing (and its a fine figure, outside of the missed opportunity) will likely be on discount then.

Spot on about the heads. I made that point as well but I swear I wasn't copying you. It's been a busy week and I've just been skimming comments. I think they just don't understand the collectors as well as they think they do. They think they need to present them as entirely different characters to make us buy more than one but in truth if they just produced one figure with several heads collectors will almost always buy that many figures for displaying purposes. And if one of those heads is a troop builder like a masked or helmet head it increases purchases many more times over. Personally it's almost OCD that I must have at least a dozen troops or no troops at all.

Effects for me are one of the sorest subjects. I've all but given up and started either making my own or having them printed by a friend. There are actually many recipes for 3d printed effects online.

I hope if and when they do the Blue version it's done in a wave or a Retro so they'll use one of the standard models. Preferably the Moonstone so she matches the other 2 Karla Sofen figures. I really think this model is overly complicated for the characters they've used them for thus far. Black Widow I can see. Mockingbird most definitely. Spider-Women and Elektra absolutely. Telekinetics and energy manipulators? Seriously why?

I don't know. As good as it looks I think this was another fumble. I feel like this new added articulation female model is on its way to being more misused than the Sunfire one. Like suddenly it's the go to for every midsized female character. The thing is we already had 2 figures of Carol Danvers and 2 figures of Karla Sofen. And they were all on the Moonstone model. Had they just used the updated Moonstone body on this one and included one head sculpt for Carol and one for Karla I guarantee almost every serious collector would have bought at least 2. I do like this body model and glad Hasbro is making improvements but this is almost unnecessary. It's not like she needs to be super agile and nimble to shoot plasma bolts or knock someone's block off. The Moonstone would have been fine and more importantly it would have been consistent for both characters that wore the suit. I'll. Be getting this for sure but probably just the one. Had it been thought through better I would have almost certainly bought 2.

This figure is going to work a lot better as Carol in this outfit than as Moonstone. I doubt I will even use it as Moonstone at all. The head sculpts mean you can't even have Carol fighting her.

Total agree on the effect pieces we need updated ones. Like a proper Web line and an actual energy blast effect

A Dr Strange with Crimson Bands of Cytorak that could be wrapped around other figures would be pretty high on my list. Spider Man's spidey sense was always super wanted, sounds like we are getting it with the Ultimate line. I made one years ago that held up pretty well. But an actual energy blast that attaches to the hands and is 3-5 inches long with an bit of a "stand" under it would be amazing. A double handed and single handed would be nice. And a specific effect that better represents Jubilee, in particular. And for the love of God, where is a Bamf cloud of brimstone for Nightcrawler!!!!!

As far as the heads with DA Warbird, I'm annoyed. I ordered, but seriously? Just the same two heads? C'mon!!!
