Not enough juice for the squeeze. While the lighter blue isn't necessarily wrong, the washed-out red is. The thing that really hurts the figure is they improved it with pinless joints but then gave him two head sculpts, both of which are just "off" to me. The smiling one looks like the phony smile of a used car salesman. Perhaps if I bought it, it would grow on me, but no. A deeper blue, a more vibrant red, black "shadow" on the mask, maybe some iridescent blue to the chain mail, and a metallic glossy shield, would give us a near-perfect Captain America.

I think where this release could have really soared is if they added the comicbook style black shading/ toning effect on the front of his mask, as Diamond Select did with their recent version. Simple, but effective. Oh...and go with a stern expression along with the snarl. As is, yeah, it's a bit redundant, and not better than the 20th or 80th versions.

I feel like this figure is a step down from the 20th, It's got awful headsculpts, the teeth grit and the smile are just not pleasant looking, and this time around it's not holes in a shield it's a shield in pieces, the stripes on the torso.... nah, I am very happy with the 20th figure and this isn't better IMO, I am glad to pass, even if I didn't have a really great Cap I'd be leary on this one, It's just not it, it's trying but it's not.

As much as I dislike light blue cap and red stripe not being in the middle, it's great looking figure that captures that early era, pinless update somehow made that figure even better than before, hopefully Hasbro reuses this mold again next year with dark colors for more modern look, personally I would like blue to be not as dark as 80th anniversary Cap but darker than 20th Anniversary.
