I'm gratified that you understand my zeal for accuracy on these figures isn't just some comic book geek guy, ranting in his basement. The thing about how they handle the Vision's boots (AND his BELT), though, is symbolic of an underlying problem of sporadic laziness on hasbo's part, that I think generates some of the disdain a lot of collectors have. Bottom line, they could do better, and we know that when we look at figures like Maverick, Psycho-Man, Iron Man (Heroes Return), and of course Spiral (!)....I just want these to be what they're supposed to be.

No No my friend. And on my end I wasn't trying to shoot you down or prove you wrong either. Like it's beyond a big shady company like Hasbro to make promises they can't keep. It's just that whole Always Ready term triggered another term I got very familiar with in my PM days. Setup Fee. Lol. The bane of any purchaser's existence. Basically meaning. Sure we can provide that previously produced product for you free of charge as long as you order X amount of product. Ooooor we could just provide the small amount of product you need for a small (never that small) setup fee. Lol. Even though I never heard or said that term it's often a rant I go on when it's even insinuated. Usually in an attempt to warn a friend or colleague. Nothing meant by it. It's almost like a full on PTSD reaction. While I mean no disrespect to anyone who suffers from true PTSD.

Not saying you didn't hear what you heard. But I really have a hard time believing in the term "always available". I mean just trying to understand how that actually could happen is a little tough. How would they logistically make it where that product is always available for purchase in a cost effective manor? And I say this with a moderate amount of experience. When I was working for THE MAN I was in fact a purchaser of products different yet not entirely dissimilar to action figures. More or less the same materials and I'd say maybe just a little more or less a comparable complexity. There are only a few ways that even a large company can have a specific product always available for purchase. They can have a production line or even a number of production lines specifically dedicated to the product and always running that product as it is expected to sell often enough and regularly enough to necessitate it. Twinkies for example. Though I think those even get shorted from time to time. I get it. They're yummy. Or they could over produce a product and store the excess until it sells but even at that they have to dedicate storage space and maintenance and also run into the danger of having a big run on the product and selling out again and be unable to fill all orders which would make it actually not "always available". And what happens if stored product never sells. That's basically a complete loss so that's not good. They could employ a policy of waiting for a specified amount of orders and then stop the production of an already running product to start producing this product which I don't have to tell you incurs a lot of wasted time and money and resources unless the order is in the hundreds of thousands at least. Which again really eliminates the concept of "always available" while your waiting for a certain amount of orders to be placed. I honestly think having a production line always ready and available to make that product on an order's notice is a waste of time, space, employees and resources. Because keeping and maintaining equipment that may never be used again or perhaps even occasionally used is never economical. And you're going to have to pull employees to run the equipment from somewhere that they might already be dedicated to. I just can't see it. Now I guess there is a possibility that there is now some sort of technology available that could be set up and readily available to make product in a similar fashion to a 3D printer on a much faster and much more massive scale but I am a fan of the whole 3D printer game and have many friends that are as well and I think if there is something like that most 3D printer people would be aware of that by now. And one would assume that at least a few components still need to be cleaned trimmed and assembled. Though I don't know that for certain. The truth is other than over producing the product and storing it or regularly running a production of the product and still having to store it in anticipation of sales or having this massive wonder machine that can print product on demand I just really can't see a cost effective way of truly making sure a product is "always available". If it's in storage it's not selling. And if it never leaves storage it never sold. That is product loss. And even with Hasbro's deep pockets I just don't think that a smart risk to take just to prove a point. Maybe just call me crazy. I actually don't mind. Nothing I've never heard before actually. LOL.

However, when folks comment on distribution strategies and pricing strategies it is not the same thing. Unless you work for Hasbro or heard it from them directly, you dont really know the why behind what they are doing, you are just taking a guess. I have collected Marvel figures since the Toybiz dayshell, since earlier than that (I even owned Mego heroes)! I also worked in retail for many years, but even with that in my background, I wouldnt presume to know what a company I dont work for is doing, so I wouldnt confidently weigh in. I love this hobby and miss seeing folks sharing their love for it and their wishes for what comes next in the line.

Agree 100 percent. It is the best one. So far. But it's not $50 best and it certainly isn't almost $30 better than the RYV Spidey. As I've said that one is just fine for me and it looks just fine in my display. If I have a chance I'd love to get ahold of this McFarlane-esque head sculpt or even get ahold of a reproduction but if not no harm no foul. And I honestly hope anyone who feels this is a sensible purchase has great fun with this.

This happens all the time with figures on Amazon. It happens with one or two from the set, almost everytime a new one is released. It literally just happened with Marrow and AOA Gambit. They diappeared, were unavailable aka sold out, then reappeared. Im not an expert on what happens or why, but it happens a lot. The lizard people aren't controlling our access to Spider-Man action figures. I think the easy answer here is that they are selling fast.
