Looking at screen grabs and animation cels of 92 Nightcrawler and comparing to Mondos images, I dont see a problem with the body type. Looks fine to me.

I suppose everyone sees it a bit differently.

One of the downsides of the low budget that the original series had was that the animation/character models was/were sometimes inconsistent from scene to scene. I'm sure examples can be found with Nightcrawler appearing a little skinnier in some scenes, but he was rendered pretty buff in others.

This is a problem. It appears that Mondo is transitioning this line of figures to the X-Men '97 series. That's a slap in the face to us collectors who began collecting the line because it was originally X-Men: The Animated Series. Simply including an alternate X-Men '92 head doesn't solve the problem. The body type on this Nightcrawler figure is clearly not from XTAS; it's too lean, so I'm assuming it must be modeled after the X'97 series. The last couple of releases were labeled as X-Men '97 as well.

I personally have no interest in X-Men '97. I think I'm going to contact Mondo to find out what their plan is for the future of this line. If they really are fully transitioning this line to 'X-Men '97 based figures, I'll have no reason to continue collecting these, or any other figures from them for that matter.

I greatly appreciate the inclusion of all three head styles. 97, 92 and Pryde. I wish we could get the same treatment in Marvel Legends. Or even just an original Cockrum-style Nightcrawler.

Beast...the Beast from the X-Men cover that goes with the Cyclops, Wolverine, and Magneto statues already released and presumably others yet to be made... is a RED platinum. No regular version and no way to order one outside of buying a whole case. For anyone planning on completing that famous scene with these various statues, I hope your local store options are far better than in my area.

This move, combined with many Red Platinums in the DC line, is a perfect example of why I adamantly disagree with anyone who says Todd "listens" to his customers. He only listens on little things like "side eye" and those card stands in the Collector line that so many disliked. Anything of significance - lower-body articulation that many have called out for years, lack of paint apps, comic accuracy, scalability in the line, releasing sought-after characters or versions of characters that people really want only as chases (no regular) - goes in one ear and out the other And I've been buying his stuff for 25 years, so I have a long track record of watching his decisions and listening to his, frankly, self-serving justifications.
