by Jay Cochran

Hasbro's Dan Yun has asked which Marvel Rivals game characters should be made for a potential Marvel Legends wave.

So just for the fun of it let us know in the COMMENTS SECTION below if you were building a Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure wave (7 figures and 1 BAF) based on the Marvel Rivals game, who would make the cut?

Honestly. None of them. Least of all that ridiculous Wolverine design. How they let that one through and let it stand is beyond me. It reminds me of the a cross between the Ultimate and Frank Quitely redesigns. It's just hideous. Man I've heard basically zero praise and approval for that one and as far as I can tell they haven't even done an alternate classic skin. I don't play it but I do talk to my daughter's husband about it and he keeps me abreast of the info. And that one is by far the worst of the bunch. As far as the res of them go I really do like the designs. Especially Iron Fist, Magik and Moonknight. But they are what they are. Much like the MCU and many of the Gamerverse figures they are much to stylistic and game specific to find a way into my collection. But seriously the popularity of the game almost guarantees there will be figures made. And when they are and in the tradition of three 2 pack sets I guess I'd say the ones I mentioned plus Invisable Woman, Loki and Emma Frost would be my picks. But those picks are all female centric and not very likely. So go ahead and throw in Winter Soldier as an alternate.

None. The costumes are too overdesigned, with silly armor, shoulder pads, gauntlets and other bits that remind me of G.I. Joe Blackout figures for Classified.

I respect it, I don't think we need these to be made. I had made some choices just for fun though but if these are never made, I'm not crying over them. We need more never made before characters to be done.

No thanks on Another sub line. I already don't like most gamerverse stuff at all. Im not a fan of these designs in any case. We still have Avengers members that have never been made in comic form, or at all. So many Asgardians, Masters of Evil, ect ect ect....I wish they'd stop spreading out and focus a little. I get that this is a popular game, and gerverse stuff sells though, so I get it. But I won't be buying any of them.

I agree with this as well. As much as I wouldn't mind them making these figs we don't need it. We need more mainstream characters or ones that have not been made yet. I liked to see more obscure ones.

I weep on the day they decide to do Wolverine and his stupid jacket inspired by his classic costume.

Also, the male characters are all too beefy with huge arms for no reason.

huge arms- might be working out more!

you say that....... when we are getting MVC figures 25 years after the game was even relevant.

Not only that but how many Spider-man ps4/5 figure have we gotten? Contest of Champions? Midnight Suns?

Fair points.

I'm not sure Marvel Rivals will be entering nostalgia mode though in 2026.

I just think if the goal was to ride the wave of Rivals surprising popularity, Hasbro already missed the boat. It reminds me very much of X-Men '97, though they at least got some figures out.

By the time they could ship Rivals figures (12+ months from now), I still say the game won't be nearly as popular and people will be wondering why the heck they bothered.

As I always say to people, just because you don't want something, doesn't mean everyone doesn't want it.

I know some don't want these over Comic figure, but this is one of the most popular games, not just Marvel games, out at the moment, rivalling (no pun intended) Overwatch. I have seen many, many people asking for Hasbro to make these. Maybe not here, but if you look up the MarvelLegends subreddit or on any social media Marvel group people are asking for them.

Honestly, I can't see Hasbro committing to the amount of tooling and paint it would take to do most of the designs reasonable justice. I really can't see them doing Emma Frost or the like. But if/when that does happen, Jeff and Luna Snow are ones I'd pick up since they'd be compatible with the regular comic Legends.

By the time they capitalize on it, it's unlikely to be particularly hot. Especially considering how they've handled X-Men '97.

If theres still a player base for it then I dont see the issue. If its something like Avengers where it died rather quickly then yeah, but if theyre able to maintain any sort of live service momentum then its not particularly crazy to do figures for it.

If it gives me characters we dont have yet like Luna Snow Im good.
