Marvel Legends Magic: The Gathering Spider-Man Figures!?!

Next week the 2025 San Diego Comic Con will be taking place where we expect to get news on both the Marvel Legends and Magic: The Gathering front from Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast.

On the Magic side, Wizards of the Coast will be showing off their new Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man cards which will launch globally on September 26, 2025. The set brings Marvel’s iconic wall-crawler and his most infamous foes, friends, and familiar faces into the world of Magic: The Gathering for the very first time.

Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man First Look 12:30PM - 1:30PM, Room: 5AB - In a celebration of the team-up between two iconic franchises, join us for a First Look at Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man. Previewing new cards and artwork, join Mark Rosewater, C.B. Cebulski, Aaron Forsythe and Sarah Wassell to learn how this Amazing set came to life.

On the Marvel Legends side we expect a number of new reveals to be made from Hasbro, most of which will come from their panel.

Marvel Legends Panel with Hasbro 11:30am - 12:30pm PDT - Room 5AB
The Hasbro and Marvel product experts discuss exciting news about Hasbro’s ever-popular Marvel Legends product line. Attendees will also get a sneak peek at upcoming items, followed by a Q&A for your burning Marvel Legends questions.

So none of that should be a big surprise for you, however what might be a bit of a surprise is that I expect next week that we will also be getting the official announcement for a new action figure crossover subline between Magic: The Gathering and Marvel Legends.

While not yet officially confirmed by Hasbro (which means we will treat this as RUMOR until they do), this new sub-line looks like will feature Marvel Legends figures that include some kind of Magic: The Gathering card. The first wave of 4 figures will be based on the new Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man set. So yes one of the figures in the wave will be of Spider-Man and all 4 figures will be based on Spider-Man related characters.

I have very little details about the cards being included with these figures and honestly I know very little about Magic: The Gathering in general or how the game is played. I assume the cards included with each figure will be based on the character of that figure. I have seen indications that the cards included with the figures will be unique in some way, but I don't really know what that means or how that will impact the game itself. Assuming this RUMOR is true (which i feel pretty confidant it is or I wouldn't be bringing it to your attention), then I am sure we will be getting all those details next week during SDCC, which of course we will have full coverage of right here on MarvelousNews.

Magic Crossover....This feels like the mini comic thing again, it's just going to be new Spider-Man oriented figures, but with a magic card included, Honestly I would be excited if I thought this might be a chance to get some new Spidey Villains, but I have a feeling this is going to be 4 big characters, that have all been made before, but hey Hasbro surprise me.

Wish since Hasbro owns Magic, they'd do some two packs with a Marvel Character and a actual Magic character..it's always these crossovers that don't actually do any crossing over.

Yeah, that is what I'm thinking. Probably a reissued spidey with a trading card and some other reissued figures with cards

The only reason I even bought a figure from the mini comic wave was to get the Adam Warlock signed by Jim Starlin at Montreal Comic-con.

Speaking of the Mini Comics though...

I might be the only person in the entire community that likes them, . But I didn't, and wouldn't have, asked for them.

Heard that! Its baffling....and while I tend to steer clear of the "nobody asked for this" train of thought (because I'm sure SOMEone SOMEwhere would ask to see this, and Hellfire Gala stuff- which I can't believe even exists, but so be it) , I see where you're coming from. The things we HAVE asked for (Warriors Three, WWII heroes, completed teams, Marvel Monsters, etc) aren't to be found. Again- over 80 years of characters they could make into action figures, but they stick with that "core" of 4-5 properties. Way overused.

Bring on the Frightful Four!

That's part of why I deleted the comment. Although, parsing hairs here, I did just say I've never "Seen"anyone ask, not a definitive "No one asked". (Minor difference for sure, lol.) But yeah, I'm getting a knee-jerk annoyance response everytime they announce a new subline now. Cause I just know that means another bunch of the stuff we have already, and an even longer wait for what I actually want. Ultimately, a few more Spideys with some Magic cards is nothing to yell a clouds about. I hate when I write something pissy on here, and go back and read it later. I'm just like, "man I sound old".

Not to be a downer, but this just seems like more excuses for rehashes, while comic figure fans wait even longer for all the characters we've never seen. And the worst part is, I've never seen a single person on any comments section anywhere ask for this. I get they're gonna make Rivals figures due to the games popularity and sales of Gamerverse stuff, but this seems like reaching.

Interesting... just when you think they may be running out of ideas: a MTG crossover? I'm cautiously optimistic on this one. Guess we'll find out this week!
