There was an period following the Ellis run where he returned under the guise of a CEO named Tem Borjigin. Pretty good story, actually. The Knauff stuff is worth a read if you've never checked it out.

Ah,.ok,.cool. Thanks! The only real run of Iron Man I've read was Invincible by Fraction, and the start of vol 2 by Bendis. Plus some random trades here and there.

I always found that odd, given that the Shredder was Japaneseand a villain and he wasn't green. Still yeah, as much as I want a Cartoon Mandarin, it might be difficult.

Not to mention Bebop being black...

I'm confused by the white haired head, if anyone can fill me in, that would be great!

I'm going to explain why, and I know some people will object. But the reason they probably won't do that version is because that version is considered even more racist then Mandarin yellow fever version of his earlier appearance. Back in the 90's having an Asian villain in a cartoon was NOT allowed at it would be considered offensive making a person of an ethic race a villain. So, at the time, characters that were Asian were all given green skin, sharp eyes and pointy ears. The likes of Mandarin, Dr. No in James Bond Jr., Ming in Defenders of the Universe and other Asian character fall under this trend. i have talked to some Asian people and nowadays many find it offensive. It is also the reason Baxter Stockman was white in the original TMNT cartoon, when he was black in the comic.s

BUT Mandarin did something even worse. In probably an attempt to try and steer away from this, Fox decided when they made Mandarin origin in the cartoon, to make him a white man that appropriated the China culture when he became a villains.

Now I'm not saying it's impossible. They could make it, and I grew up with the cartoon, but if I was Hasbro i would steer clear of that can of worms.

I find it odd that searching "Marvel Legends" doesn't bring this thing up at all. I typed ML with "mandarin" and still didn't get it. Tried adding "iron man 2 pack" and Still nothing. I only got it to come up with the link. Just wanted to see if there were other pictures that might sell me on it. It's not sold out, just crazy that it's still buried.

Despite me grumbling about this being my least favorite Mandarin look, and my disappointment with this choice by the company, We all knew I wasn't going to pass up on this 2 pack, of course I can moan all I want, but I knew in my heart of hearts I couldn't say no to a Mandarin regardless of the offering, so Here I am, guilty of rushing to pre-order this, Because I neeeeed a Mandarin, still not happy, but just a tiny bit.... Look Hasbuds, you are not off the hook! this doesn't mean you don't get to give us a more classic Mandarin,..and no not in 2028. K Bye!

Definitely would have preferred a more classic look for Mandarin, but I do think this 2-pack is a decent offering. The Ironman looks great, especially with this brighter color palette and body mold modifications. I'm undecided as to whether I'll be picking it up, but I wouldn't be mad at anyone that wanted it.

I mean, I don't have a problem getting this set specifically for the Mandarin, and I am sure this look has its fans! But I am legit surprised that the animated-style/90s version wasn't done first, as it's likely his most recognizable look! Myself, I would go for the armored "Acts of Vengeance"-era look, personally!
