Guardians Of The Galaxy Gets A New Writer

THR reports that Marvel is looking to Chris McCoy to rewrite the script for their upcoming recently announced Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The previous script was done by Nicole Perlman who came from Marvel's now defunct writing program.

McCoy is a relative newcomer but has created somewhat of a name for himself in Hollywood of doing scripts with a "quirky comedic bent" to them. To date he has had three works land on the Black List and they are Get Back in 2007, Good Looking in 2009 and Good Kids in 2011.

The movie version of Guardians of the Galaxy is said to incorporate the team's latest incarnation of team members which includes Drax the Destroyer, Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot (A giant tree like being) and Rocket Raccoon (A Raccoon who likes to shoot guns). Thanos who appeared in this summer's Avengers movie ending credits scene is expected to be the villain for the movie.
