Star Trek's Zoe Saldana Recruited For Guardians Of The Galaxy

THR reports that actress Zoe Saldana (Star Trek, Star Trek: Into Darkness) has been cast to play the role of Gamora in Marvel's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

In the comics Gamora is a green-skinned humanoid who's species was wiped out by an alien race known as the Badoon. Saldana will join Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) and Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer) for the upcoming film which is being directed by James Gunn and will be released on August 1, 2014. Disney hopes to start production this June.
