New Concept Artwork For 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'

Outsiders - July 11, 2013
Marvel Studios has allowed Entertainment Weekly to show off some new concept artwork from Illustrator Ryan Meinerding for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The artist’s rendering is an epic battle scene between Captain America and his returned from the dead friend, James “Bucky” Barnes who was resurrected as another bio-engineered super-soldier, this one brainwashed as working as an assassin.

The sequel is being helmed by Anthony and Joe Russo and stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Scarlett Johansson, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford and Georges St-Pierre.

The sequel takes place after Marvel's The Avengers and shows Steve Rogers struggling to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters on April 4th, 2014.
