EW talked with X-Men Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer, who revealed that he will definitely be involved with the next X-Men movie after Future Past. The new movie slated for a 2016 release is being called "X-Men: Apocalypse," and he will be co-writing and producing it. Whether he will be directing it though remains unclear, “I’m negotiating to direct. We’re in the process. We’re trying to figure it out, schedules. My desire would be to direct it.”
He also tells EW that he is still deciding if he will include an Apocalypse teaser scene in Future Past like was done in last years The Wolverine movie for this year's X-Men movie, “I’m still deciding that,” he says. “Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie.”
Apocalypse will also look more closely at the actual origins of Mutants and their history.
X-Men: Days of Future Past opens in theaters on May 23, 2014.
