Academy Award Winner Michael Douglas Cast As Hank Pym For Ant-Man Movie

Marvel Studio's has announced that Academy Award winner actor Michael Douglas has been cast for a role of Hank Pym in Edgar Wright's upcoming Ant-Man movie which will star Paul Rudd as Ant Man/Scott Lang.

In the comics Hank Pym is the inventor of the Pym Particles which is what allows him to shrink down to the size of an Ant and fight crime as the original Ant-Man. Later Scott Lang assumes the mantle of Ant-Man with the help of Pym and his Pym particles. No plot details about the plot or how Pym and Lang will fit in to the Marvel Movie Universe.

Hank Pym in the comics is also the creator of Ultron who will be one of the main villains in the upcoming Avengers 2 movie. Whether Douglas has any role to play in that movie is also not 100% clear.

Ant-Man is scheduled for release from Marvel Studios on July 31, 2015.
