Could Dr. Doom Be Played By A Female In New Fantastic Four Movie?!?

In a move that might piss off fans more than when news broke that Ben Affleck would be playing Batman in the next Superman movie, THR reports that the folks at Fox are toying with the idea of switching genders from male to female for Doctor Doom, the villain of their upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.

Fox has already caused somewhat of a stir with it's casting for this movie by selecting African-American actor Michael B. Jordan to play the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch while considering Caucasian actresses such as Kate Mara and Emmy Rossum to play his sister and teammate Sue Storm.

Obviously no decision about Dr. Doom has been made for the Josh Trank-directed movie, and how serious the studio really is about the idea of making Doom a female isn't clear, but if the studio did goes that route I can only imagine the kind of out cry from fans it would cause. The Fantastic Four reboot is slated to open in theaters on June 19, 2015.
