"Every decision you make affects the people we love," says Sally Field's Aunt May in the new 30-second TV spot for the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Her prophetic statement is then proceeded with a slow-motion shot of Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy in a terrifying free fall as we see her plummeting towards the ground below.
Now does this mean Gwen will suffer the same fate as her comic book counterpart -- or is the marketing team setting us up for the 'ole switcheroo? It's hard to tell, but you can expect to see at least these two things when the movie opens on May 2nd: 1.) "a friend becomes a threat" and 2.) "a fan becomes an enemy." So, in other words: "Everything Changes."
It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, Sally Field, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore
Release: May 2nd, 2014
