We've heard that there is a good chance Gambit will appear in the next X-Men movie with
X-Men: Apocalypse, but who would play the Cajun thief? How about Magic Mike's Channing Tatum? MTV caught up with the actor this past weekend at the MTV Movie Awards and asked him about playing the role.
He tells MTV that he has met with X-Men Producer Lauren Shuler Donner and that he would love to play Gambit. He goes on to say that growing up down south with his dad being from Louisiana and he being from Mississippi that he can relate the most with the Cajun, and that other than maybe Wolverine he feels Gambit is the most un-X-Men, X-Men out there. Channing says he hopes things come together and he gets the part. He has already been working on the accent, though he admits it still stinks right now. See the entire interview below.
