Chiwetel Ejiofor Cast As 'Baron Mordo' In Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'

Deadline is reporting that Chiwetel Ejiofor will be playing the character role of play Baron Mordo, an enemy of Doctor Strange. Baron Mordo first appearance in the comic Strange Tales in 1963 and he's an amalgamation of characters culled from Doctor StrangeĎs mythology. Scott Derrickson is directing the Marvel Studios film from a script by Jon Spaights with Benedict Cumberbatch to star as the title character. The movie will have some changes from the comic format as Swintonís The Ancient One character is another, as the movie has gender-swapped the Tibetan male sorcerer from the comics. Both Strange and Mordo were mentored by The Ancient One, but Mordo tried to kill his teacher.

The film follows the story of the brilliant and arrogant neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who learns after a horrific car accident that his hands donít hold the key to his powers. Instead, he discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

The movie is scheduled for release on November 4th, 2016
