Cate Blanchett As Female Lead In Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok

Sources have informed Variety that Cate Blanchett is in talks to play one of the new female leads in Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok. Blanchett’s character in the superhero sequel isn’t known and this would be Blanchett's first major comic book role. Marvel had no comment at this time.

Thor: Ragnarok is being directed by Taika Waiti with Chris Hemsworth returning to play the Norse God and will also feature Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and the villainous Tom Hiddleston who plays Loki in “The Avengers” universe. Stephany Folsom recently polished the script.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
