Zendaya Cast In 'Spider-Man' Reboot For Sony And Marvel Studios

by Outsiders
March 7, 2016
Sony and Marvel Studios have begun to cast the roles for their Spider-Man reboot and have selected actress-singer Zendaya for a key role. Zendaya's role will be built up around Tom Holland, who’ll play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film to be directed by Jon Watts. Her character's name is Michelle but no word if she'll play a romantic lead opposite Peter Parker, but it doesn’t sound like it.

Holland was the first to be cast so that he could be part of the ensemble in the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed Captain America: Civil War, the first film in which Spidey has cross-pollinated with the established characters in the Marvel Studios universe. That film will be released May 6th, and it’s produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige.
