Brie Larson In Negotiations To Play 'Captain Marvel'

June 10, 2016
Variety is reporting that sources from within say that Brie Larson is in early talks to play Captain Marvel, one of Marvel’s most popular female superheroes, in an upcoming standalone film. It's unknown on how the negotiations stand, but sources are claiming that Larson is the first choice for the part.

There is no director setup for the movie but Marvel always wanted an actress in line, with the idea of possibly introducing her in one of its upcoming films before its 'Captain Marvel' movie bows.

The script is being written by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman, which follows Carol Danvers, an air force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the super powers of strength, energy project and flight.
