Avengers: Infinity War Smashes Box Office Records With A $258.2 Million Domestic Weekend Opening At The Box Office

The final opening domestic weekend box office take for Avengers: Infinity War comes in at $258.2 million dollars, making it the largest opening film in US history. The previous record holder was Star Wars: Force Awakens which opened back in 2015 with a $248 million dollar take.

Internationally Infinity War brought in $382.7 million dollars making it's total box office take this weekend a whopping $640.9 million globally. That does not include China where the movie doesn't open until May 11. The previous opening global record holder was The Fate of the Furious which brought in $541.9 million globally. The Fate of the Furious currently still holds the international opening weekend box office record with a take of $443 million in 2017, however that total included China.
