Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Illuminati TV Spot Reveals Some Familiar Faces - SPOILERS

Jay Cochran - April 29, 2022
Disney today released a new TV spot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Illuminati which will open in theaters in less than a week. The TV spot is titled Illuminati.

While this is something that has been officially released, I am still throwing up the SPOILER WARNING.

In this TV spot we get a very good look at the robot guards who appear to be escorting Strange to meet the Illuminati . These appear to be bots influenced by Ultron.

We also get a look at what appears to be America Chavez facing off with Captain Carter in the Hydra Stomper armor. For those who watched the season finale of the Disney+ What If animated series, you know whats up.

In previous trailers we had already heard Patrick Stewart's voice. Of course Stewart is known in the world of Marvel of having played Charles Xavier from the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies. For those who read the comics, we also know Xaiver is one of the founding member of the Illuminati. In this clip we not only hear Stewart talking again, we also get a glimpse of his new Jim Lee inspired Hoover Chair from the comics.

Finally we get our best look at that mysterious fiery character. Many initially speculated this was going to be a variant of Iron Man played by Tom Cruise who was for a while rumored to be in the movie. I believe those rumors where squashed but even if he does make an appearance, this fiery character ain't him. From the looks of it the costume looks to belong to Captain Marvel. Possibly a variant version of the character.

If you haven't already watched it, I do recommend you check out the Disney+ What If series before going to see this movie. I am getting the feeling the events of that show will have a sizeable impact on the events of this movie.

Yeah I think that firey character is Monica, it sure looks like her, also the blue effects on her arms.

Man though Cap Carter in this, this movie just keeps getting more insane looking, I couldn't even imagine what else we might see if they are showing us all of this, we know how tight lipped Marvel/Disney are so if they are showing us this much, better believe there are a ton of things they have not yet.

like I said many moons ago, seems like Cobweb (?) is in this, could sleepwalker? if in fact this is cobweb. looks a ton like it.

Assuming it's a known character, that's who most it looks like to me as well. Either way, I hope Monica gets some more super-powered screen time one way or another in the near future. I came to know her as Captain Marvel in the comics before I knew who Carol Danvers was, so I've got a soft spot for her. Same thing happened with Rhodey as Iron Man.

I think it's Wanda facing The Hydra Stomper given the red energy effects. Some people are speculating that the fiery being could be Monica Rambeau
