Deadline has confirmed that Julius Onah has been tapped as the director for Marvel’s Captain America 4.
Information known about the upcoming project is Anthony Mackie will star in the feature as Sam Wilson, who assumed the mantle of Captain America in Disney+’s series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Falcon‘s creator Malcolm Spellman wrote the script for the upcoming feature with the show’s staff writer, Dalan Musson. The plot is being kept under wraps and the production start date hasn't been announced yet.
Onah has helmed such projects as The Cloverfield Paradox and the 2019 Neon drama Luce, based on J.C. Lee’s play.
Cloverfield Paradox was a wreck, I hope he has learned from this, but hey it might not have been all his fault, since Paradox was supposed to be a movie that had nothing to do with Cloverfield when it was made and had additional elements added to make it one, maybe the original concept was far better then the end product.

Hell, I didn't have much confidence in Cap's future at the end of that Disney+ trainwreck. They shoulda just done a Falcon movie a long time ago.

Cloverfield Paradox was pretty terrible. If I recall correctly Netflix announced during a Super Bowl commercial that it was dropping right after the Super Bowl to try and get hype but the people who stayed up to watch it immediately were overwhelmingly disappointed. Hope Sam Cap gets better treatment.
