The idea that Marvel Studios is supposedly not calling the team X-Men (because there's also women in the group) is ridiculous. Victoria Alonso needs to shut her face LOL
Besides that theory is quickly shut down with the other mutant-centric project that Disney has already announced: X-men '97.

Yeah and Goodman rejected it because'Our readers, they aren't that smart. They won't know what a mutant is.'
Ah whatever, as long as they do it right. but I think this might be a shot in the foot to Marvel Studios the general movie going public who don't know much more then surface info will likely go "what's the mutants?" wouldn't X-Men as a title get everyone into the seats? I'd say yes it would. that's like calling a Spider-Man movie "Web Crawler" ....you don't call McDonalds Burger place? why would anyone rather go to Burger Place?
Marvel Studios just don't mess this one up.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Just basically setting up a general caste system throughout a newly revealed mutant community in the MCU. Except, I honestly think it's gonna be a mix of Inhumans and Mutants origin. Something like a Terigen Mist type event will awaken dormant mutant genes that were caused by another attempt at the Super Soldier Serum decades ago that escaped into the air or water. The process will kill most low levels, disfigure or deform mid levels (such as The Morlocks) and will grant exceptional abilities to the strongest survivors.
Or they could simply be Inhumans who's powers were activated by something other than the Terigen Mist and "mutatated" beyond the desired affect and they become a mutant branch away from the Royal Family.
I don't know why, but I just have the feeling the Inhumans are involved somehow. It would be kind of a convenient excuse to sideline the Royals back in Attilan, till the MCU needs some low energy, minimal appeal, uninspired back up characters to drop in to future projects (just like the comics) while the Mutants take the spotlight.
Then they can just sprout out projects from that point on. If they're really intent on not calling them X-Men for ridiculous reasons that are rumored they could simply label them like they do in the comics. Red Team, Blue Team, Gold Team, Etc.,or they can name the movies after the events. The Mutant Massacre, The Death of Mutants, Mutants: Inferno, Etc...... At this point i really don't care. Just do a good story. Give the characters the proper respect and pay proper homage to the property and it's design and just make the damn thing good.

"We are mutants. However, we are also human. I know there are some of our kind will use their powers to hurt other. My students and I want to used our gifts to prevent this."

Even though I liked Spidey and Strange a lot, I don't have as much hope I had in MCU as I did before since most projects in this phase are creatively boring and uninspiring. I would rather have that fan theory about (FOX) X-Men and other heroes coming over to MCU proper to take down Wanda and avenge Charles and Illuminati.
Why do I suddenly picture Stan laughing at Goodman about this? Lol
