Kraven The Hunter stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe.
Kraven The Hunter is set to hit theaters nationwide on October 6th.

The whole thing is basically a big tease. These films are like a shell-game, a bait&switch, where they imply that they are giving you sort-of-something, but not really what you want. Think Halle Berry's Catwoman---what's the point??
Yes of course, it all simply boils down to latching on to the IP, attempting to lure fans, of course none of these secondary characters are going to hold much weight, but they struck a bit of gold with Venom (although Venom is a far different beast compared to Madame web or Kraven, he's his own hugely popular character in his own right), so therefore they thought it was possible, it's really not as much the characters themselves fault for a bad movie, if done right you could really make anything a good movie, but Sony just doesn't seem to have the ability to make a good movie at this point, it's obvious it's a soulless cash grab, for instance you can make a good movie with characters that are lesser or not in the popular eye, case in point the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, at the point in time that movie was going into production, the average movie goer or even comic fan wasn't aware or cared about Guardians, but it was a good movie, with all of the elements to make a movie worth watching.
These guys making these movies, obviously don't care, it's literally as you say a bait&switch move, it's the..this guy is a Spider-Man character, "you like spider-man? come watch this guy?" it's the whole move of You like Cola...? how about liking Lime Cola? you already like an aspect of it, surely you want a taste?
It's just not good product, And it's time for Sony to give it a rest, the evidence is there, nobody want this anymore.

I actually finally gave this movie a chance and watched it, WOW, just wow..., this was truly awful, I can't actually believe this even was shown in a theatre, it felt almost close to being a parody made in 2005, tell me how did this movie look and feel so dated, I half expected Toby Mcguire to appear, Story was awful, dialog/writing was awful, they butchered this character so badly, and Rhino? what in god's name was that? Ugh I hated that I saw this, it was all the trainwreck I suspected it would be, the whole time I thought to myself, How did they get these actor's to do this? they must feel ashamed, Madame Web was better...
Sony go home, you are done here.

Will watch this in theaters (maybe), I like how it's rated R but so bothered that they didn't do that with the venom trilogy, like cmon. How more suggestive could it be, dudes getting their heads beaten off but no to minimal blood.

Ik this is months later but as someone who saw it on Netflix and sadly finished it, I have got to say it was the worst movie I ever seen. And man I have seen way too many movies.

I'm watching this because of the plot...
I hope we get action figures of Kraven and Rhino... even if they're inaccurate character representations, they look like good live-action adaptations of the comic designs

While I don't so much mind that stuff if it pertains to the story adding it gratuitously to try to attract a particular crowd is almost certainly going push away another crowd. Effectively shooting themselves in the foot. The secret to a good movie is actually a lot easier than that. Coming from the consumer side anyway. I want a good story, decent casting and acting, great action and fight scenes and truth to the character. Blood and gore should just be consequential to any of those aspects. If its belongs there, good. I not then don't force it.
Yeah, Once one movie is popular, everyone wants to copy it.

An easy pass.
I'd rather a Spider-Man movie with Kraven hunting him than this environmentalist origin story. Sure, it'd be the same as every other Spider-Man movie, but there's a reason the character has been around for 60 years.
