Deadline has reported that Julia Garner has been cast as Silver Surfer in Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four. Additionally, Pedro Pascal will portray Reed Richards (also known as Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby will take on the role of Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is set to portray Ben Grimm (aka the Thing).
Garner has been cast to portray Shalla-Bal, a character based on Silver Surfer from the comics, in the upcoming film. The details of the plot are currently undisclosed.
The highly anticipated Fantastic Four movie will be directed by Matt Shakman, known for his work on WandaVision. The script for the film has been written by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Eric Pearson, and Ian Springer. Production is scheduled to commence in the summer, with the film expected to be released on July 25, 2025.
I could be wrong but according to the set pics Thing isn't fully CGI but rather partially CGI, or at least he isn't going to be in all scenes, which could explain unnatural movements. Although it's worth remembering that they fully CGI-ed over the actual Spider-Man costume, so who knows maybe they abandoned idea of physical model and it was just a test.

The lip-synch on the Thing chews exactly the same way as it did on the Mark Ruffalo Smart Hulk, and being a fully-CG-character, it's what I would expect.I don't mind it, as it gets the point across.
I think this looks like itll be cool. Been reading a lot of comments elsewhere on the internet about the Things movements not being natural and stuff. I can kind of see it, but I am also going to assume that this isnt the final version either since it is meant to be a teaser trailer. In terms of design though, I think the Thing looks great! Much closer to how I have always pictured him. Hopefully there will be a point in the movie where we get to see his rocky torso as apposed to it being fully covered by the suit. But I kind of dig the suit design as well. The whole aesthetic of this movie is a neat change of pace from what we have been getting from the MCU, and hopefully that turns out to be a good thing.

I don't know. I've seen this trailer couple dozen times now just looking for small clues like all those Youtube sleuths. Ben's voice is starting to grow on me. I know we've all gotten used to that gruff Michael Chikles style but if you go back and look at that version it does seem kind of forced like Bale's Batman. This one seems more natural. Kind of deep but without feeling guttural and breathy. And yes I've been a long time proponent for Pedro to shave off that sad little patchy facial hair. Not taking cheap shots. It's just some people can grow it and some people can't. He's one that just can't. Neither could my grandfather. He chaulked it up to his Native American bloodline. Who knows if that's true but he stood by it. Of course that look is kind of Pedro's signature look now so I think he's stuck with it. And if you look at him all shaved up in movies like Wonder Woman '84 he honestly loses something when it's gone. LOL He actually looked more like Marvel's Arcade rather than Maxwell Lord.
As said above I'm cautiously excited, I do mostly like what I see, I do love retro futuristic aesthetics, it seems like right way to go for F4, when he had 3.5 iterations of them on screen. I really hope they don't make Galactus into some sort of Joke and he will be serious threat.

I'd say people ARE excited, but maybe cautiously so, given the track record so far. It isn't that they're "looking for something to be wrong", we're looking for it to be done correctly, to be a great film. We don't want "a" Fantastic Four film in the MCU, we want a GREAT Fantastic Four. From the looks of this one trailer, I'd say they look like they're headed in the right direction, fingers crossed.
Very excited to see that Thing in Legends.
Good trailer, looking forward to this. What's crazy is the cast was in town today to debut the trailer at the Space & Rocket Center (Huntsville, AL -- Hometown of MCU Nick Fury!) so people keep sending in pics of them around town to the news station I work at. Kinda tempted to post a particular Pedro at Starbucks picture, but that would get me in some hot water if anyone cared enough to take notice.
Solid first trailer with a very specific vibe that I am digging. The design for The Thing, the costumes, the set design, the pace of speech - it all feels very promising, special even. The main cast looks pretty close to my mind's eye versions of the characters, but I know everyone has their own thoughts about that. Not sure why folks are griping about Pedro's stache (might not be how the character was drawn, but it doesn't look wrong - these are filmmaker choices, not ours, so they are not worth getting worked up about). Marvel has had some misses for sure, but given how many films and TV shows they have created with their inter-connected universe and how many of them knocked it out of the park, it is foolish to bet against them. Marvel knows they need some magic, and I think they got it here. None of us know what the story will be yet, none of us know if Downey's Doom will work or not, but looking for something to be wrong is just exhausting... how 'bout we just get excited about the fact that we have a new Fantastic Four film in the MCU!
