Director Yann Demange has departed from Marvel Studios' highly anticipated Blade reboot, as confirmed by
Deadline. Mahershala Ali will continue to play the lead role. Sources emphasized that Demange's departure from the project was mutual with the studio, although it may indicate another setback in Blade's journey to return to screens.
Eric Pearson, a seasoned Marvel writer, has been assigned the task of penning the script for the upcoming Blade movie. The highly anticipated film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 7, 2025.
It wouldn't surprise me ifMahershala Ali decides to move on from this. It shouldn't be this hard to get this made and yet there are hurdles and roadblocks that seem never ending. Also keep in mind....Blade might have reduced aging, but Mahershala does not-he's 50yrs old now. Snipes was 36 in the first Blade movie. If a movie gets eventually greenlit, its likely 4 or even 6 years down the road. Would Mahershala really want to wait that long to do this when he'll doubtless have other projects coming his way?
Seems like this movie is suffering, and in constant Limbo, maybe just nuke it and try again?
I've taken a very casual attitude toward superhero movies and television shows as of late. I like the original Blade movies and was excited to see this reinterpretation of the character onscreen. I'm not holding my breath and this point and can't blame the director or anyone else for that matter for wanting to move on and do something else.

Ugggg. Nothing but bad news coming out of this movie. I swear it must be cursed. Put a stake in it's heart and just let it go. But maybe that's a good thing based on the leaks of what the movies original script was supposed to be about. We've already got some pretty good Blade movies in the book and I doubt they can do any better by todays standards. Judging by history they'll just throw a bunch of CGI in the movie and have the character only very loosely resembling the character we are all familiar with. Or based on other characters such as their daughter. SMH. Just work him in in the next Doctor Strange or Ghost Rider or Scarlett Witch movie. Or better yet do some kind of special feature like Werewolf by Night before Mahershala Ali completely bails on this thing. Which I think will be the next bit of information we hear about this project. If this thing ever goes through it is going to be a complete disaster.

Agreed. The connection between the two was tenuous, at best, but I didn't care. I just want BK in a movie. He shoulda shown up in Dr Strange, or even the Marvels considering his motivation at this point is to save his girl from a Godlike being. Not sure how Blade was gonna help. Showing up to ask for ANY Avengers help or trying to join SHIELD would make much more sense.

For real??? I just watched his two movies to see how he works, well, let's hope for the best for him and the project...
I think Mahershala Ali might abandon this project sooner or later, unless he's super invested into character and it's his dream to play him but at this point it's only taking valuable time and possibly harming his career by conflicting with other projects he might want to star in.
