In the course of promoting the upcoming sequel to Ridley Scott's Gladiator, Denzel Washington revealed to The Today Show Australia that Ryan Coogler is crafting an undisclosed role for him in the forthcoming Black Panther film. Washington inadvertently mentioned this role during the interview while discussing his preferred types of characters and his future plans prior to retirement.
“At this point in my career, I’m only interested in working with the best. I don’t know how many more films I’m going to make, probably not that many. I want to do things that I haven’t done,” Washington said. “I played Othello at 22, I’m now going to play it at 70. After that, I’m playing Hannibal. After that, I’ve been talking with Steve McQueen about a film.” “After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther. After that, I’m going to do the film Othello. After that, I’m going to do King Lear. After that, I’m going to retire.”
I think he should play something else like the bad guy

A Denzel Black Panther would be so epic! Denzel has always been my favorite actor and man I only wish he was like in his prime so he could tackle a younger version. That would have been something to see.
