They also released this poster below with the caption "It All Leads To Doom".

I'm late to this one. I love Halle Berry. Always loved Halle Berry. I wanted to marry Halle Berry when I was younger, or at the very least a woman who looked just like her (didn't happen, but that's life). That's how much I love Halle Berry! That being said, I'd always felt that she was miscast as Storm, despite her proven acting prowess. However, in all fairness to her I think she was right too about her treatment during the films; they basically made her Storm a side-note in every movie, despite the fact she's an Omega level Mutant and the fact that Chris Clairemont did wonders with her character during the era MCU has almost exclusively mined from. I wouldn't be unhappy to see Berry return, but I'd prefer they recast AND did the character justice this time.
I find it hard to think Berry will return. She complained in the past that her character was just a glorified special effect and not a character. So, returning for a cameo seems unlikely

anyways, I hope that she shows up, if they are going to be having the Fox X-Men roster, they should at least have them all for one last hurra, send them off nicely, no doubt they will Parish or something of that nature in this movie.
I don't think star power really had anything to do with her casting way back then for the first X-Men movie. She was just starting to blow up but she wasn't super famous at that time. As for her accent, there's at least one or two deleted scenes where she had an accent. Most of those scenes were cut. When X2 came around they decided to drop the accent. The only real line left from the first movie was the terrible, "Do you know what happens to a Toad when it's struck by lightning......." God, I really hate that line. But, I definitely agree she wasn't the best actor to portray Storm.

They slapped a white wig on one of the very, very few actresses around at that time who MIGHT be able to play her, and I get why; they wanted some star power for the movie, and she was rising up (hell, she got an Oscar the very next year!). However I never thought she portrayed the essense, the "gravitas" of Storm. I thought Iman ( the model/actress) would have been a much better fit. Regardless, if Storm were to be brought back today, it would HAVE to be Halle, because audiences just wouldn't accept anyone else in that role.

I think we all expect eventually to see the likes of Hugh Jackman/Wolverine announced and one might even expect that Halle's name could be fourth coming as well. Well not so according to the actress who was asked about it recently via Variety:Fans want to see your name on the chair for the next next announcement of Avengers: Doomsday,'Berry responded by saying:Keep waiting, Its not going to be there. Its not going to be there. Now before we totally right off Berry as having some kind of role in the upcoming Avengers movie, it should be noted that actors often lie about these kind of things until it is officially announced by the studio and Berry herself has previously expressed interest in reprising her role as Storm as recently as last year when asked about whether she would be appearing in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie. So I guess time will tell.

I actually really like Tatum as Gambit, especially the costume. I felt like it worked.

I was celebrating my birthday yesterday, and I checked my phone to find the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, and the reveal of James Marsden returning as Cyclops, and he will be in the same movie with Mr. Fantastic. My first and second favorite marvel characters together in one movie? Even if they do not share a scene. I never thought I would live to see the day we would be getting the Fox X-Men cast in the MCU. I thought I was dreaming! Marvel Studios has given me an amazing birthday present. Also, I LOVE Channing Tatum as Gambit. Maybe he is a little too large for Remy. But, he otherwise nails the character, down to the cajun accent!

Ha! I know what you mean. Channing Tatum as Gambit is as bad as Rachel Zegler as Snow White.

Hopefully he doesn't have a part in any of James Gunn's DCU movies
