Writer Gene Luen Yang and artist Marcus To will continue their bold Shang-Chi saga this summer with a brand-new #1!
Marvel’s greatest fighter has had a transformation since Yang starting penning his adventures in 2020. Packed with revelations about the hero’s origin and family, dangerous additions to his rogues gallery, and changes to his relationship with the wider Marvel Universe, SHANG-CHI’s future is more unpredictable than ever. And with the emergence of the legendary TEN RINGS in recent issues, Shang-Chi’s story is about to take a shocking turn. Revealed to have power that rivals the Infinity Gems, the TEN RINGS is a weapon that everyone from Hydra to the Hand wants their hands on. The repercussions will be so great that it will usher in an all-new SHANG-CHI ongoing. The previously solicited SHANG-CHI #13 will now be SHANG-CHI AND THE TEN RINGS #1, the start of a bold chapter for the character.
Shang-Chi has gained possession of the powerful Ten Rings. But so much concentrated energy has not gone unnoticed. Now, every bounty hunter, assassin and evil syndicate in the Marvel Universe is coming to take the Rings from him! But will the responsibility and the truth of the Rings be too much to bear for the hero? The debut issue will see Shang-Chi in a striking showdown with Razorfist, more trouble for the Five Weapons Society, and the first appearance of a new foe—RED CANNON!
“It's been such a joy to work with Marcus To over the last couple of months. He's a brilliant artist. His characters are vibrant and full of energy, and he's so good at fight choreography!” Yang said. “We're all really excited about the new #1! And about bringing in ten of the most powerful items ever into the Marvel Universe!”
“Gene and I are gearing up to give the fans one hell of an action packed book,” To added. “Shang-Chi is the greatest hand-to-hand combatant in the Marvel Universe, and we’re gonna show it in this story.”
Discover the truth behind the Ten Rings when SHANG-CHI AND THE TEN RINGS #1 hits stands on July 20.

I guess like Hogun suggested this will change the story to Mandarin being the true father of Shang Chi, so much alteration I don't know if I can dig it.
I understand that Marvel wants to back away/discard/remold the Mandarin as they feel he's too close to Fu Manchu, which is a character rooted in a racist stereotype. Changing his rings to these bracelets, and the bracelets now to basically infinity stone macguffins, I don't know.

That in itself basically changes what and who the Mandarin ever was. Chances are that he'll end up being some fallen Celestial (cuz that's the thing they're gonna make happen now) who's body was destroyed while trying to prevent a black hole, opened by a Deviant, of course, from destroying a nearby solar system and was forced to the nearest inhabited planet, which happened to be Earth, where his soul was then forced to take refuge in the body of a human man. And wouldn't you know, that man just happened to be a new father, but due to the all powerful alien god now inhabiting and controlling his body he could no longer get back to his family, though he desperately wanted to, cuz you know, he's actually a good man. Then ten rings were forged out of yet another type of ancient indestructible cosmic metal as it was the only substance that could contain and be a conduit for the manifestation of his true power. Unfortunately the human body was far too fragile to unlock and control that power to use them to their full potential. The good news, no the great news, is that the entire time the Earth man's soul was buried in the subconscious of the body now inhabited by the ancient god he was studying and learning and understanding how to unleash and manipulate the massive power of the rings, but of course, it was far, far too powerful and dangerous to let loose on any planet, let alone Earth.
UNTIL NOW...................

You just wrote the template for an entire 2 year comic run, Look at you going and giving Marvel more ideas, You sir are hired.
So derivative it makes me cringe

Hell, with the way these guys just regurgitate each others "ideas" chances are the rings will be yet another manifestation of the All-Black.

They're the ones that nudge writers to dress the X-Men in black leather uniforms, give Spider-Man organic web-shooters, introduce Harley Quinn to the comics, have Sam Wilson reclaim the mantle of Captain America, make Gotham look more neo-gothic, etc.
Synergy has also been there for longer than anybody currently making comics. Both Jimmy Olsen and Kryptonite originated in the Superman radio show, and thefirst Batman film serial gave us the Batcave. All of this back in the 1940s.
That being said, there are good and bad examples of synergy, but as for synergy itself... it's just a tool of the trade.
Fair enough. But all that argument does is reenforce the idea that all the idea folks who are supposedly behind all the creative power in comics basically just carry water for the people who write the movies. Also, the editors lay out the ideas and put the writers in charge. So if they're just doing what they're told all they basically are are glorified dialog writers. And even that ain't good.
The basis is still there. How creative are these professionals really, when all they do is play follow the leader with the MCU? At least the art consistently gets better and better.

Now the 10 rings are even more powerful and ancient than the infinity stones. So creative. And now they look and operate just like they did in the movie. How unique. Give me a freaking break. If you're just gonna parrot everything someone else established I hoped you'd at least have the decency to credit Daniel Cretton with the writing cuz all you're basically doing is vomiting fan fiction based on his creation. Where do they get these people?
