The Marvel Universe Collides With The World Of Epic '90s Gargoyles Cartoon In Fantastic Four/Gargoyles #1

Marvel Comics and the beloved ‘90s Disney cartoon Gargoyles will crossover for the first time this October in FANTASTIC FOUR/GARGOYLES #1, an all-new one-shot by Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman and artist Enid Balám!
Critically acclaimed for its rich mythology and complex characters, the beloved television series followed a group of ancient Gargoyles who reawakened in modern New York City and became defenders of the night! The character’s adventures continue today in new comic series published by Dynamite Entertainment. Dynamite Entertainment will produce their own Gargoyles/Fantastic Four one-shot, also on sale in October and set in the same continuity as Marvel’s upcoming one-shot. Across both sagas, fans will see Marvel’s legendary super hero family team up with Goliath, Elisa Maza, Brooklyn, and the whole gang against villains from both team’s respective universes.
MARVEL’S FIRST FAMILY UNITES WITH THE MANHATTAN CLAN!
Danger strikes when the super villain Diablo learns stone gargoyles may hold the secret to eternal life…but the Gargoyles aren’t about to let him leech the blood of his own! Fortunately, they’ve got the help of expert Diablo-bashers – the Fantastic Four! Plus: Tony Stark and David Xanatos compare facial hair, Marvel’s own Gargoyle, Isaac Christians, bonds with his new kin, and more!
On bringing the Gargoyles to the Baxter Building, Weisman said, “It just feels perfect to have the First Family of the Marvel Universe interacting with the First Family of the Gargoyles Universe, i.e. the Manhattan Clan. These two sets of heroes, both operating out of Midtown Manhattan - one from the Baxter Building and one from the Eyrie Building - just have so much in common. And, let's face it, in ways big and small, Stan & Jack's Fantastic Four was a clear influence on the creation of Gargoyles back in the early ‘90s. Getting to work on this project really brought out the gleeful kid in me. SO MUCH FUN!”

Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, Gummy Bears etc. a number of their features from years back, don't really have much of a presence in merch, or roles in the parks.........maybe mascots at times, but that's about it. I guess some are goof ideas that just don't fit in a lot of places. Gargoyles might have been good "gargoyles" set dressing on ( what used to be) Hollywood Tower of Terror, but it doesn't really fit at Haunted Manson. Heck, they COULD loosely pair them up with occasional visits to Avengers Campus now, but........I dunno...
Yes, and so many of those shows were never completed on DVD, either. Gummi Bears was such a fun show. Wish they would make figures of them.

I liked the kind of Shakespeare Noir vibe it had.
Gargoyles was Disney's first and only attempt at a serious Superhero gig---The Incredibles doesn't count because it was a comedy/parody.As good as the show was, it was also frustrating because as much as it circled the superhero-chair, it just didn't want to sit down in it.I'd have loved to see what they could really do with the genre, but that dream is kind of gone because they now have Marvel under their umbrella.
Interesting crossover. Cool that Marvels Gargoyle will be included. Bet they bring in Dragon Man as well.
I loved the Gargoyles cartoon as a kid. I had most of the figures and a few issues of the Marvel comic.

that unexpected. I know they are both Disney but I feel like Disney has forgotten they existed.
