According to
Deadline, Marvel's Jessica Jones spinoff 'Luke Cage' will make its debut at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 with star Mike Colter, along with showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker and co-star Alfre Woodward in attendance. Cage's former and future love Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter, will not be in attendance. Marvel intends to show preview footage from Luke Cage, which is set to premiere September 30th on Netflix.
On the series Woodard plays Mariah Dillard, a local Harlem politician — and cousin to recently announced Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali) – who is looking to bring a new era of change to the streets she grew up on.
Luke Cage also stars Sonia Braga as Soledad Temple, mother of Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple (also reprising her Daredevil and Jessica Jones role); Frank Whaley as hard-nosed Detective Scarfe; Simone Missick as bionic-armed Cage associate Misty Knight; and Theo Rossi, who plays Cage’s enemy Shades aka Alvarez.
