Bill Paxton To Guest-Star On Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Jay Cochran - January 13, 2014
Bill Paxton (Twister, Terminator, Predator 2, Aliens) will be joining the cast of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for at least a 4 episode story arc playing the character of Agent John Garrett, a cigar-smoking rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), in other words a character similar to the original Nick Fury character from the comic books minus the eye patch. In the comics S.H.I.E.L.D. turned Garrett into a cyborg to save his life after he was injured in the line of duty. Whedon tells TV Guide, "when Garrett got his promotion to Level 7, he refused to sit behind a desk and doesn't like the formalities of S.H.I.E.L.D. He's going to help Coulson solve some mysteries and is not afraid to rig an explosive or two."

The episode arc with Paxton is scheduled to air in late February or early March on the ABC network.
