Marvel Animation’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Official Trailer

So I watched first few episodes, and yeah it's definition of mediocre, series absolutely misunderstood who Peter Parker is, he's Dinseyfied caricature of Peter he's superficially shy, kind, awkward, funny guy and that's it, he has zero substance, which is what made Peter Parker relatable character.

Spider-man be it in original comics, 90s cartoons or old Ultimate universe was always about learning lesson for his hubris, he was a bit of a jerk and selfish, real angry teenager type and in many ways it was understandably so due to bullying of his classmates and loss of his parents.

What he did when he got Powers? Even though it's clear Peter is good person inside who was raised well, he didn't go playing hero but rather his first impulse was to impress girls and get the money, which makes sense for 15 year old kid, but in the end life taught him a tragic lesson in responsibility and by result made him understand why it was important to mature as a person and take up responsibility even if his sense of humor still made him feel like light-hearted character, which in reality was mostly a way to hide his neurotic condition when facing dangerous situations.

You know you have a problem when 1962 version of Peter from 15 page comic book is far more 3rd dimensional and realistic than premium series one from 2025.

But even if we close our eyes on that, it still is incredibly boring story line.

Well, not so sure this one is for me, but that's ok. I'll probably check it out regardless, but not going to feel rushed about it.

This animation is in really bad situation, from one side fans really want to see continuation of 90s Spidey cartoon thanks to the revival of the X-Men, and this wouldn't be hard to see and predict so it's on Disney, from another side there's Spider Verse animation that it's gonna be compared right away, so even if it's indeed a great animation circumstances aren't optimal, because we gonna have big number of fans who will say I wish I was watching 90s Spider-Man revival/Spider-Verse instead.

Mmmmmn........... Misfire. It's not made for me--and that's okay--but I think ( from what I'm assuming here) it's not hitting visually what I think it's supposed to be trying for.That is an animation-look. Okay, this will sound odd, but it looks too much like every other COMIC BOOK art, to really lead with the label "Animation".Too much rendering in the colour, Too much detail in the art, per se. It comes across as a title seeking an animation flavour, but no-one on the art crew really seems to know what animation truly is. The poses are just a bit too graceless, too many opportunities missed in staging. It just feels .........blah, to me. As for the premise.........I'm not sure what it's going say as stories that, frankly, haven't already been said numerous times before.

Not looking forward to this to be honest. Another High School Spidey, already bringing in the multiverse and links to other heroes, Spidey trying to be radical, Seems to be just a whole army of cliches and tired ideas

So Peter's early days. I wonder how they will shoe horn Miles into this? It doesn't seem possible considering the era but this is Disney...

I hear what you're saying; I too think there are a number of changes made that I don't care for, but mainly because they don't make sense for the characters and are poorly written in, clearly forced. Having said that I did watch '97 and thought it was pretty good. They did make some changes (like Jubilee) that I think are for the better. Actually I wasn't as big a fan of the original animated series but I did tune in. It got beaten out by the far superior Batman animated series run. Bottom line, I can see where you've become disillusioned but if you find yourself with some time, give it a look.

Just don't be as dull as What if and have lots of other characters in it and I'll be happy
