Because you all loved him so much in Iron Man 3, Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) will be returning for a DVD short film as part of one of the extra features for Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray. According to
EW the 14-minute film titled "All Hail the King" will be written and directed by Iron Man 3 scribe Drew Pearce and give us a look at Slattery during his time in jail after the events of Iron Man 3. Here is what they had to say about the short film:
“Imagine a real terrorist organization whose beliefs were long held and religious for thousands of years, and imagine a drunk, British actor coming along and essentially telling the world that he’s the face of your organization,” Pearce tells EW. “I think they would be right to be quite angry.”
Whether this opens the door to something bigger, perhaps a lead-in for an Iron Man 4 movie or an introduction to a real Mandarin remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure. The terrorists weren't the only ones unhappy with the whole Slattery/Mandarin portrayal in Iron Man 3.
