This weeks Marvelous Custom was done by
Nighthawk who created a modified
6" Marvel Legends Avengers: Infinity War Iron Spider figure which features the mechanical arms. Here is how they describe the making of it:
"Bought the KO Spider Man and drilled some holes on the back of my Iron Spider Man. Now he's got the arm attachments. Doesn't look so good on the back cause of the angle of the flange, but looks good from the front though. Had to drill the holes that close to not impact on the butterfly shoulder joint."

After the Toy Fair reveal of the Iron Spider Man with the legs, I regret making this.
Great job nighthawk. I thought about going this route too but pretty sure I would goof it up. Have to have a bit of skill with this sort of thing. Mucho respect to you.

Good job man. I really think this is a cool custom. I think this does justice to what is otherwise a lackluster figure. Great job. Hasbro really should have given us more accessorieswith the Iron-Spider figure.
Looks good, maybe I'll try that. Wish I had the money for the Mafex Iron-Spider. That looks way better and probably the best Iron-Spider action figure. (Besides the Hot Toys one, they always take the cake if I say so).
Thanks. It actually didn't work as well as I hoped as the top arms didn't fit as well. Also, I the pegs are actually angled so if you look at it form the side, it looks a little weird.
Lastly, the buttefly joints on the arms give you a lot less room to work with when drilling. I actually hit the joint a little. I wish I bought one of the ones from China to try it before doing it on the legit one. If I ever find another one on clearance (highly doubt it), I'd be tempted to buy it and do the mod again knowing what I know now.
Its too bad this suit design used handwavey magitech to create the arms, having them come out of nowhereinstead of them having an actual hub like they did on the iron spider suit from the comics. I bet that would have made this custom less nerve wracking with the drilling. I know Id be sweating lol
Walmart has the cheaper $10 figures that actually look pretty good. Ive been thinking about getting the Spider-Man one as a stand in for this suit since I cant find the marvel legend anywhere. If I manage to find both, I might give this a try.
Great work and thanks for the idea!
