ANT MAN
Ant Man’s costume is comic accurate, although it is unclear which person is in this costume. It seems a little odd that his head fills the helmet, and exaggerates the size of his head. Otherwise he is of similar size and proportion to other Superhero Squad figures. The details of the glove and boot cuts are nice, but he could have benefited from separating the face from the helmet some. The paint application is a little messy at the boot and glove cuffs but is otherwise good and fairly consistent. The colors are also good, being colorful while not too bright.
DR. STRANGE
Dr. Strange fits in stylistically with other figures, but his costume is noticeably different from other superheroes, which is indicative of the character not the figure. Proportions are similar to other figures. The yellow is a little too bright for my taste, but the other colors used are good choices. The only problem is the white on his chest seems to have a slight red tint to it and so looks a little botched. Sculpt details include clothing ripples, sculpted in hair, and details in the cape.
Articulation
Ant Man has 3 points of articulation, 1 for each arm and 1 for the waist. Dr. Strange has the same points of articulation, although the cape prevents the legs from rotating very far at all. Ant Man gets his full range of motion.
Poseability
As with all figures in this series there’s not a whole lot to do with these figures except display them next to each other. These are no exception. Ant Man and Dr. Strange will sit on the shelf with each other and other figures, and that’s about it.
Final Judgment: 6
These figures fit the style of the line just fine. They don’t do a whole lot, but they weren’t designed to. The figures are cute, have fine balance and look good on the shelf. I’m fans of the characters in particular, and I think these versions are fine. These figures are good, but not great.
