Pretty cool stand in figure for Wild Child

this guy arrived loose in the mail today. cool figure, the perma-roar face doesn't bother me as i prefer my villains to have evil expressions more than neutral ones. Anyhow this guy brings back a lot of fond memories of the DeFalco/Frenz run of Amazing Spider-Man that i enjoyed as a kid, so i'm glad Hasbro made him.

Hopefully i won't regret the decision to forgo building Kingpin but between my lack of enthusiasm for the rest of the wave (aside from Sable) AND not really seeing this wave showing up in the wild AND a million other figures coming out, I don't think it'll be a huge problem.

I completely agree with you! That's a frustrating thing for me- I'm cool with having a snarling/yelling head sculpt, but not as the ONLY head. it definitely cuts down on the versatility of display options for that figure. I hope they include a non-snarling Apocalypse head with another figure at some point- that was a huge disappointment to me. I really want an update of Banshee, but I hope they include a non-screaming head...

Maybe you didn't understand what I was saying. I have no problem with the open roaring/yelling/screaming head sculpts, but they need to include an alternate closed mouth version as well so you have the option of displaying him with either one & for those of us that take action pics, the alternate heads are a must. If you just buy figs to just put up in a static pose on your shelves & that's it, then I guess just having one head sculpt is good enough. Kingpin BAF is great cuz you have both a mean yelling face head sculpt & a closed mouth serious look. Only other thing I woulda wanted with KP is another set of open /closed fists.

See I disagree... I enjoy the ferocity of the open mouth; it's pretty much scary & disturbing, in a good way, Open, roaring mouths on characters like him or Beast show an emotional expression that fits my use of figures...which is more as reasonably priced statues to display, rather than figures for play. Tapping into that personality trait does a lot to give it unique visual appeal...'makes for good contrast compared to others....too many figures have a serene facial expression which contrasts their action- hero nature. 'well done on this one.

Had he come with an alternate closed mouth head sculpt, I mighta purchased this but with just the open mouth version only, pass. Hasbro really needs to think about doing a closed mouth version when doing a yelling/screaming figure. 90s Sabretooth & Beast are 2 more they dropped the ball on while getting it right with Kingpin.

Hah, Shartimus Prime created a new super team, the CatPeople! But if you let a crook like Sabertooth in the group you might as well invite Killmonger in his black leopard costume.
