The outstanding series that is Marvel Legends continues it's fifth series with six excellent regular edition figures and a special chase figure that includes Blade (the feature film character who is played by Wesley Snipes), Mr. Fantastic, Colossus, Nick Fury, Silver Surfer with Howard the Duck, Sabertooth and The Red Skull is the chase figure of Marvel Legends series five! I will review the power hungy phenom!

Red Skull's Bio: Trained by the black-hearted Adolf Hitler himself, the Red Skull and his fearsome visage were intended as a symbol of Nazi supremacy. During World War II, his unparalledled evil genius only could be matched by his arch foe: the star-spangled Super Soldier called Captain America. After failing to tip the wartime balance of power in favor of the forces of tyranny, the Red Skull spent decades in suspended animation - awakening in present day to enslave humanity and resurrect the power of the Third Reich!

Accessories: The Red Skull includes four accessories but five if you count his comic book. Included is a Ruger hand gun that fits into his leg holster, a removable military dress hat, a two piece stand of a fallen tank and a damaged wall and a comic book. The two piece base is repainted as it was also included with Captain America of Marvel Legends Series one. His gun originally came with Dr. Doom in Marvel Legends Series Two. The comic book is issue number 16 and titled Red Glare.

Articulation: He has twenty points of articulation. I know what your saying, how can Toy Biz have this low amount in a Marvel Legends figure especially an anticipated figure of the Red Skull? Really I don't know why they reused some the movie Daredevil body but have no worries! You can put this villain in many poses. He moves at the neck, the shoulders, the elbows, both wrists, the waist, the legs, knees, shins, ankles move up and down and have side to side movement and plus at the toes. Don't get Me wrong, the figure could use more articulation points but I am very thankful that I have this figure!

Durability: The figure is made of hard plastic but beware of his hands. They seem to be very fragile because of the small pegs. Other than that the Red Skull is a very durable figure!

Packaging: The figure sports the same clam shell type packaging like the other Marvel Legends do and has the bio and power grid on the back of the card. There is no mentioned that the Red Skull is a chase figure however. The packaging is very sturdy with very few twist ties!

Paint: The paint application is very good and clean here! On his face his eyes are painted a beautiful light blue color and his teeth are purely white! His insignias of the bird and the upside down triangle on the sides of his arms are not sculpted but are painted on. The bird is gold and the triangle is gold and green. The sculpted bars on his shoulders and his collar are gold and green as well. The buttons on his shirt, the belt buckle, sleeves, and his boot straps are also painted gold. A good job by Toy Biz!

Sculpting: The sculpting is tremendous! The Red Skull's skull is an excellent sculpt! His face looks very bonny and thin like a real skull! The eye and nose region look realistic and the cheek bones stick out like they should. You can also see the cracks all over his head! The hands are new sculpts! What isn't new is the legs, boots, and the torso. His upper half is covered with a rubbery shirt. I am satisfied with this and Toy Biz did another great sculpting job!

Overall: Being a chase figure the Red Skull is very difficult to find and even though he has a low number of articulation points and reuses accessories that was included with previous figures he is a must have in My book especially if you have a large collection of Marvel Legends and Spider-Man Classics because he looks awesome with everyone! Don't let his flaws distract you, he is an excellent action figure that will be a great addition to you collection!
