Its a matter of attention to detail, and they've demonstrated time and again they can do it...they just don't ( all the time). Today I got the Barbecue GI Joe. The orange used on his outfit would've been great for Tigra as well.

While I do like the paint detailing on the nails and belt on the old one, her joints are pretty bad. The figure is also kind of lanky. I'm definitely going with the new one. I may paint her finger and toe nails though. Well this is some neon, retina-burning orange, to be sure. Even with all the reviews I hoped it wouldn't be quite this bad. Gotta wonder, how noone said "hey let's tone that down a bit". Sure, people are gonna get tired of hearing us rag on this, but her tiger fur is her distinguishing feature, so its important to get it right. Few tads lighter, and a bit of shading, and she'd be perfect. Stripes look very good. Instead of too much paint on the rest of her, they didn't color the claws at all. The heads she comes with are ok but frankly neither one says "Tigra" to me. I like the color on the eyes, though. Also like the color on the bikini (which is molded on, nice). She's usually in blue but I think if they did that with this paint scheme, it would just look cartoonish. The fangs on the belt look great- they accent without overwhelming. The tiger amulet looks cheap compared to the 2009 version. Despite the drawbacks, she's pinless, has double elbows with swivel biceps and you just cant beat that.
People can bash the color scheme on this figure but to say you're sticking with the outdated inferior decade old version is laughable. Bout 97% of Hasbro's redos have blown the original TB or early Hasbro versions outta the water! Only 3 TB figs that imo, Still stand the test of time are Rhino, Lizard & Green Goblin.

I'll be waiting until I see it in hand to judge if I like the orange
I got my Tigra today. Yeah, the orange makes her look like she's the Cincinnati Bengals mascot, but she is a lot more full bodied than the old one. Her tail is still movable and gets too heads, so I'm satisfied. In this increasingly PC and feminized society, I'm not surprised at all her swimsuit has been made into a granny suit... the times we live in indeed.

"We can release this character, but only if fan channel, toned down, and IF we release fan channel Hercules at the same time, to show we don't promote the straight male gaze." That's the corporate mentality right now, ripped straight from the Twitter mob. Sad times we're living in.
