While overall I can't say these
Marvel Legends Retro Collection 3.75" figures
Hasbro has been doing is really for me being they only sport 5 points of articulation (7 if you count the swivels on the wrists), but when they announced
USAgent for
wave 4 I knew I was gonna have to get it. Up until this point
Captain America from wave 1 was the only other figure from this line I have gotten, and that one I never opened.
One of the positives for this line is the price. Each figure is only around $11, and while the "Retro" packaging isn't based on any real action figure line from the past, I do like the over look of the cardbacks which have that
Kenner feel to them. If I was to collect these figures on a regular basis, I would do so with the intent of keeping them in the package for display. If your wanting something fairly cheap for the young ones then these probably would work as well.
The cardbacks are made with a fairly thick cardboard so I don't think you have to worry much about them getting easily damaged. The figures themselves are also nicely made for what they are. I had a little paint blemish on my
USAgent where some black from the mask had rubbed onto the nose of the figure. Other wise the colors are nice and vibrant, the reds and whites anyway are but they pop nicely with the black. Unfortunately going back to the minimum articulation there isn't much you can do with the figure other than have him stand there in one pose. He does come with a shield which has a clip to go around the figures wrist. I noticed there is a hole on the figures back but no peg on the shield so you can put that on the figures back which would have been nice.
In the image gallery below I show this new USAgent with other figures done including the
5" Toy Biz one, 4" Marvel Universe and 6" Marvel Legends. This one is the smallest of the bunch.
If you know me, then you know I am a big USAgent fan which is why I had to get this one, and overall I am pretty happy with it knowing what the limitations of it are going in. I actually got two, one to open and one to display on the cardback, which again is how I would recommend you display these if your going to collect this line on a regular basis.
USAgent is available now on
Amazon with free shipping if you are a Prime Member. Check out a full

Now I just have to wait for Hasbro to bring on the new updated
Marvel Legends 6" version which should be coming in 2022.

Why Hasbro continues to insist this is a smart use of resources is ridiculous. How much of this time, effort and materials could be used to improve ML is saddening. Sure, the retro and nostalgia market is booming, but what we're seeing most companies do is retro "type" figures with added articulation and better production. This 5 points garbage is better left to companies like Super7 and Funko.
Wholeheartedly agree. Give me 6 retro articulated figures and they can keep these Happy Meal toys..
i will say the only thing this Piece of $#!+ line has done right is hitting the retro feels with the classic costumes. Shame THIS line got a comic accurate Agent while their BEST SELLING line has no updated representation of Agent and many other key characters.
So ironic that Hasbro killed the articulated 3.75 MU line and is force feeding the masses this junk.
Nostalgia or not these are not for me either

its basically $10 for a wall decoration, which isn't that costly. And there are some i could see being useful, shrinking character such as Ant-man or Wasp. The silver surfer would go well with a Galactus figure, the x-men would probably work well with a Sentinel although there the limited articulation might create issues.
Bottom line, not for me.
All that said, i'm becoming increasingly disenchanted with retro packaging for the ML line. It was fun at first but now just strikes me as a way to cheap out by not including additional accessories or a BAF part instead.

positives? I disagree, we were getting Marvel Universe/Legends figures for $12.99 before they decided to drop them. These should be selling in dollar stores for a $1. All of these types of figures like Reaction are basically made to be kept on cards because once you open them you will get major buyer's remorse. I believe there are even cheaper Marvel figures at the dollar stores for the young ones. Better they destroy the packaging on those when opening.
Jeez, never thought that shield would be that small, I wanted it so I can interchange it with the old 1/18 line, but the proportions are wrong, it is my first and last one from the retro, and I can't cancel it cuz it's already in transit...

I hate this line. The figures are super basic. Which I know is the whole point, but for 20$ CDN. I would rather shell out an extra 10 for a 6-inch scale Legends.
