Therein lies the rub. Because besides the Thing, the Fantastic Four have been getting the most basic, run of the mill attention yet. Come on, this is the team that started Marvel! Their impact resonates throughout the entire Marvel Universe, and they deserve better. And really not that much needs to be done.
Mr. Fantastic's figure is about the same height as the Invisible Woman. He looks like a child, compared to the Captain America or Dr. Doom figures. There's no boot cuff rotation, and the white on his temples looks like it was smudged on. At the very least he should be on the white Magneto buck. Every time they do him, he should have some kind of effects just like they do for Sandman.
Invisible Woman is finally getting a clear variant, but this should've been here earlier. She's been put on that teenager body buck, despite the fact that she's a grown woman. She is Marvel's first female superhero. Let's see that reflected. She too should have various force field effects when she's done.
The Human Torch, at least the first Walgreen release, was way too large and out of scale with the rest of the team; this latest version is way better, more accurate.
And before anybody chimes in with "the movie didn't well", tell me what movie Psycho-Man was in? Did he have some Netflix blockbuster I missed? Poor movies didn't stop them from making a $400.00 comic accurate Galactus. Flock I care about some movie? I've said it before, the Fantastic Four lends itself to potentially one of the most prolific toy lines out there. Costumes! Weapons! Vehicles! Accessories! Allies! Villains! They got it all.
I got back into collecting as an adult when this figure was in the bargain bins at Kay Bee Toys, so for nostalgia's sake I feel like I need to get this one (not to mention, it is actually a remarkable figure). Thing, Psycho Man, and Wizard are the ones I remember liking most from that line.
As a Fantastic Four fan,it kills me that the best figurein the retro FF waveis... Psycho Man?!! Butit absolutelyis a great figure. I took him out of the box last night and just stared at him for a while. Even with some limited articulation, he's sweet. You can tell they put all the budgetinto this guy, whichis why the heroes are all mostly repaints.
Possibly a Top 10 figure of the year.
I said it before: this is a work of art. They really did a beautiful job here. They put more work into this figure, who's at best a c-d list villain, than they did Mr. Fantastic himself. Gorgeous!
Love it, so happy to finally get a Psycho Man and I think they did a really good job, this is entirely new in terms of tooling , so it seems they put some good love into him, and he's a very fun villain IMO, super happy to get this figure.
