I'd honestly be really upset if they gave us Generation Next before the regular Generation X team, I agree on that, I really hope we can see some of the Generation X team soon enough. As much as I love the AOA story, and really did when it came out, I was initially really excited about the figures potentially getting made, and they did, I'm pretty content with what we have here in these 2 waves, I never loved all of their looks in AOA, and still only have some personal faves, I think I can be cool with them retiring the whole AOA only waves, it would be cool to see a few extra characters they left out sprinkled into X-Men waves, but they got most of the essential characters down with these 2 waves, I don't know if I desire more waves dedicated to the story, I would have loved to see more Gen Next figs get made, and of course Nemesis would needs to happen, but I skipped a bunch of this wave, and only actually got the entire first batch because I needed to build that awesome Sugar Man characters like Abyss, Husk, Vincent, Amazon, Mystique, Deathbird and some others I can't think of I'd welcome as figures, but not super necessary. I think they did a decent job tying up most of the aspects of the Age of Apocalypse that they started, though. They put out the entire Astonishing X-Men team, the Weapon X duo, the relatively stand-alone X-Man, the instructors (and main antagonist) from Generation Next, two of the three main characters from Factor X, and the big A himself. If they had just done Havok instead of Iceman it would have stood on its own just fine. X-Calibre and the X-Ternals got ignored, as did the Amazing X-Men, the students from Generation Next, and Forges entourage, butagainpretty cleanly ignored. And everyone else was basically just a supporting character.
Was going to ask if this 2nd full AOA figures finished the characters but from reading the comments they are a long way from completed. And a 3rd wave is unlikely. Bummer for those collecting these, as like many others teams/stories Hasbro will have a nice representation but ultimately incomplete collection. Alpha Flight, Excalibur ( for now) , Thunderbolts, are just a few that c9me to mind that we might never complete. Kato - 2021-11-30 @ 6:27 pm
