Maybe the thinking behind that is, they can't botch it any more than these three are....and the original was even worse. All in all....a pretty low bar, if they want to make any improvements.
With how good that shield looks. it's kinda shame it doesn't come with another one that is pegless, bigger shield really makes it so much more comic book accurate. I also don't get how people justify abomination that was vintage version cap, that head doesn't even fit the body on its own, and makes cap look like villain.

Love these pics- he is def a much needed improvement from any Cap we've gotten.

The figure looks better in these pictures than it did during the original reveal, but I still prefer the 80 Years version.
First Cap #$## slaps the Red Skull and then he gives him a noogie. Nice.
