Same this in hand and passed. I really wished the alt head was a proper Thor head and not just one with glowing red eyes. Now do I get the 80th anniversary Thor or wait and see if a new Thor figure gets released with the effect.
Wow I just saw this whole this was what you were supposed to get, and here is what you get images, I mean it's shocking that they couldn't have had both hands in that box, really taking away an additional hand? either that was an Oof moment which I hope, but if that was intentional and 1 extra hand was going to break some budget, that's appalling to me. either way on to the figure, looks good, is it cool sure, is it something I need heck no, is it something I feel is a fine sub in for those who don't have 80th thor also no. I'm still feeling odd about this release, Ragnarok is a cool character, but this just feels like an easy not even re-paint, most people don't know the character, most people probably just want either a spinning hammer, or have hopes this will fill the gaps as a Thor they don't have, and like a very few who want well Ragnarok, which if they did, could ya not just toss in the extra half robot head and arm into a re-release of 80th Thor for the people? it all seems like a easy cash snag with whatever way you look at it.

Now they're starting to scale down accessories which were almost non-existent to begin with. And with the history of the new head of operations at Hasbro it's probably gonna get worse. Great time to be a ML fan. It was the Kitty Pryde figure actually, but it is a good point. Especially when other lines have done it, like recently with the Lightning Collection.

And most of all it would probably cost hasbro way less due to considerable less paint apps. I wonder if it's actually clear plastic underneath that is just painted over, in this case it would be easy enough to modify it by removing paint with acetone.

As for the figure its decent like previous one but as much as I appreciate spinning hammer accessory it looks weird to me, instead of conveying motion it looks like 8 hammers stuck together. Imo they should used translucent plastic where only one or two would look like an actual hammer. Bowen statue did this and it looks way better. I agree that that paint scheme for the spinning hammer looks better. Also disappointed in losing out on accessories too, even if it's just one hand in this situation. Still makes it feel less of a deluxe even though that's the price we're paying for this.

I bought the Select Thor specifically to get this spinning accessory years ago. and I love it but it is too heavy for Thor figures and the articulation of said figures was difficult to get in a natural looking pose how Thor would look spinning his hammer. Also, I was worried Id break the handle off so I rarely used it in displays. heres hoping Hasbro made their version lighter. And sturdy. never knew about the Bowen statue but I agree, the paint apps look way better with only a few hammers in grey and the rest much lighter. Now Im kinda feeling like this is another missed opportunity by Hasbro haha.. like that SHFifguarts Black suit Spidey they cleverly painted the bottoms of his feet blue.. simple touch that greatly enhances the overall figure
That last photo is troubling. Kinda $#!++% of them to surprise us with less accessories. A couple extra hands isnt a deal breaker but its rare when theres a hey, look what youre not getting moment. Im digging a chance to get this figure but I doubt Ill ever use him as Ragnarok. Instead, with normal Thor parts, he is different enough from the 80th Anniversary version that I can use him in another team display. He had this costume for so long he wore it it MANY classic lineups.
