I feel like the shoulder pads were mostly in consistent though,the second pic he has then but I don't think they are there in the first one you posted, I dunno it's largely irrelevant, it is what it is, but I mostly remember them not being there with this costume.
this costume seemed to be all over the place, sometimes it was less arm fabric, sometimes he was like almost in a tank top, sometimes his belt was bigger, It's not super important but I always just assumed nobody knew what was going on when he was in red. I could be tripping, I do trip

This is one of the few instances where the Unlimited Sub figure was one I wanted, I like this palate swap for Nova, is it a must have? no, I can still be cool without it, but this is really rad, if this was a standard release I'd snatch it up easily, but I'll pretend I ddn't see this, like most of these sub figures I forget about them in time anyways. Plus it's inaccurate, he didn't have the shoulder pads in this suit, that makes me fine without this.
I like that they did this here though, one of the better offerings for Unlimited.

Ah good to know.. I did notice in some panels he looked brown. But I've been accused of being a tad color blind so I was t completely sure
